Good luck Frank.
Look out for James Houston #132. He is riding on his Brompton in sandals. Has just done the Pan Celtic. He rides with the London Clarion and is a thoroughly good chap.

I wonder how the steering is on that....
Will be good to recheck the rigs halfway through the race and make some quality armchair assumptions about the progress. -
• #606
Hopefully no punctures on the rear......

• #607
Wonder if makes it to finish...

Be like one of those people who doesn’t have a checked bag and tries wearing all their clothes on the plane 🤣

This will be 4th time riding, one previous finish, one scratch in 2017 (after Frank Simons died) and one in 2019 i think after hitting an animal and crashing. Gear hasn't typically been his problem - fairly experienced outdoorsy person. Think he'll be OK but the the TCR you never know!

Everything is warming up over here.
Just back from registration. A few tears from Anna when she said it was her last one - and a few giggles when she fluffed her lives and said she wanted to spank all the volunteers and sponsors instead of 'thank'.
Feels like a lot more people than 2016, probably is. Saw some people that I was looking out for but not others.
Apparently Ian To has spent two weeks in Romania reccying the route. He seems pretty serious.I've still got my hotel room so chilling up here, it's really hot outside. Will have to get changed, pack my stuff and join the throng shortly!

Reminds me of Jesse on Transam

So cool, have fun :)

The caps are really small this year. Mine only just fits but Rory Kempner had his perching on top of his head!

ian to's attitude last time (?) he raced was very shitty.

• #615
is that a foam sleeping mat underneath the tt?
-
• #616
Yes, he always uses foam ones
-
• #617
I didn't think he'd be back after that.
-
• #618
Snap.

good luck @frank9755 and @wheels_of_fire and any others on here. a wind at your back.
like @cliveo I'll be keeping an eye on our mutual friend James H as well as the pointy end of the race

• #620
that's everything he took on TransAm??!
-
• #621
some folk out in front very early on but can't see that pace being remotely sustainable - 400km at 34 km/h average
-
• #622
The start is pretty flat but of course that pace won't be held. People trying to get a gap when fresh. Let's see how many hold it though and who has gone too hard to finish.

Where is the best dot watching site?
-
• #625
Is https://www2.followmychallenge.com/live/tcrno8/ the webtracker of choice on here?
The dotwatcher.cc feels quite clunky and freeride (can't remember the exact name) doesn't seem to be covering it this year.
Bruh!
