Thanks, they were surprisingly large and noisy.

You don’t have to do anything. (Except leave them in peace) and be warned that adult tawny owls are ferocious defenders if their nests!

Has anyone spotted the woodpecker hanging around Ruskin park this last week or so? Neighbour said it’s there daily.

This year there seem to be many more song thrushes around than I have seen before. This one was entertaining me this morning.

Lovely morning to be out! I got shouted at by a deer, heard my first sedge warblers of the year, saw ravens, goosanders, reed buntings and a surprise merlin.

Lunchtime is not usually that good for seeing birds but I saw quite a bit today. The ravens were mucking about with each other and with the kites, lots of crazy diving.

Yep, until translated:

'Wanna fuck?', 'wanna fight?', 'my Manor, fuck off'.

Two starlings: ~30-60 sec on the lawn, 15 sec fly to nest and back. For hours.

Incredible aren’t they!
In a couple of weeks they’ll be joined by noisy youngsters begging for food but at least the parents won’t have to fly back to the nest with it.

Just had that playing in the background at home. Lovely. Sounds like a tropical rainforest.

Now you've completely spoilt it - like telling a 5 year old Christmas is bollocks.

But isn’t that what a lot of pop music is doing?

No picture, but just had a goldfinch on the garden fence which is the first time I've seen one here.
