Our car sits idle most of the time, it's a 53 plate with 100,000+ on the mileage mostly from previous careful owner who did lots of trips between London & Honiton.

Well that sales rep YT video was quite distracting and I ended up watching the whole thing, that is the funniest thing I have seen for ages.

I dunno, I was gonna hire a car for a holiday and it worked out cheaper (in theory) to buy one and sell it, and we'd have it for the duration of the holidays. It was a good idea until we kept it for 2 years.

We got our for free (old Fiesta that behave like a 2CV), and trying to keep it that way, so even cheaper.

So we're saying the top tips for money saving motoring:

• don't pay for your car
  
• limit use to 6 times a year
  
• do not maintain

my first car was my parents' old Cav - loved that car!

yep - proper rep car. I learned to drive in it. Then when they replaced it a few years after they passed it on to me.

Dad wasn't a rep, he just liked the car. (Technically it was mum's car but he chose it.)

My cav was rear ended at 199k miles. A tragedy.
