What is going on here, wearing jeans is not acceptable on the golf course or the 19th hole.

Unless you've got the full uniform.

If you check the club rules I think you will find
Dress
Jeans and trainers are not to be worn either in the Clubhouse or on the Course. Tailored shorts may be worn on the course with knee length stockings. Jacket and tie is required throughout the Clubhouse from 11.00am, however golfinf attire is acceptable in the Snack Bar and terrace area all day. -

I thought Rohan made travel suits and safari jackets for 80s backpackers and war correspondents…ah ok yeah

Browsed their website. It is very here, isn't it.
Probably is a bit, yes. Excellent stuff, either way. Quality materials, well made and lasts for ever. And where would I be on a cold winter's night without my Action Blankie?

All this is above my head, I just go to M&S every other year for either jeans or chinos.

Does anyone have a liner for their Barbour? Do your arms get cold, or is there a long sleeved alternative?
I wanted one of those near Uniqlo things with the fold down collar, but there were none in the stock.

I have one of these things. It's very warm but looks a bit Jeremy Clarkson, particularly if you get the version with the shotgun patches on the shoulders

Have never found a long-sleeved one that doesn't feel massively bulky / ruck up around the elbows. Thick jumper or fleece is the answer.

Why don't you just wear a jumper

That's useful. Cheers.
TBH at thst price I think I may just grab a matching Barbour one.
I used to have a padded Hoggs waxed jacket off the back of a recommendation here. That I got for something like £12 off ebay. Was very impressed.

It's to make a moderately warm jacket a warm jacket.
I'm not wearing it with nothing else other than a cheeky smile.

The Hoggs stuff used to be "farmer prices" i.e. quite reasonable but over time they figured out that it was much more lucrative to become a lifestyle brand.
If you live near an agri supply shop you could probably get something similar for cheaper

I have a liner for mine but I find often it’s too hot and I almost never attach it. I just wear a gilet which if it gets too hot can pop in the pheasant pocket

I’ve got the old one that looks like they killed and skinned Bungle from Rainbow to make it, it’s useless, doesn’t stay put and isn’t warm.
Surely for full G-chic points the answer to the jeans question is Rohan?
