The absolute BUZZ of hitting the Sainsbury’s wine aisle with 25% off six or more bottles and £85 quid of Nectar points
But the Peroni is in the next aisle along...

Sting? Phil Collins (e.g. Sussudio) or Huey Lewis and the News, surely? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual.

My band played a wedding at a golf club in Surrey once. The father of the bride didn’t want us to play. After the first set he gave us an extra £800 to fuck off. Then him and his mates from the golf club hit the floor to Lionel Ritchie
Ok we weren’t a great band but we weren’t that bad

I've been in bands that have toured for over a month at a time and come away with significantly less than £800 (closer to £0, not including loss of earnings for time off work). I'd see that as a massive win!

I have to say my experiences of touring and playing originals vs playing Mr Shiteside at weddings is far less lucrative. It has some dignity though..unlike the emptiness felt as you thump through Chasing Cars at the end of the night.

Who said this? - have now found the comment.
I see you have had to dig out a comment from 13 years ago. If you look for that derogatory term it was common useage in the early days of lfgss but has been pretty heavily moderated by users as the forum community evolved and become more inclusive.
