  • still needs bartape and a few other bits but pretty much there, also just built up these lightbicycle rims on bitex hubs which came together nicely

  • Also got the track frame painted to match :)

  • will get some better pics when its sunny

  • Both incredibly good!

  • I’ve seen the new bikes IRL and they are unbelievably good!

  • Great proportions, lovely details and a very clean build 10/10 👌

  • don't know where to ask this or if I should start a thread but does anyone know if/how resetting an Aluminium frame is a thing (I know most will obviously say no bin it etc but frame in question is only very slightly out and wanted to try to save it if I can - also if anyone knows a better thread to ask on I'm all ears!)

    Cheers,
    Matt

  • Both so good mate, is that a 1.5" ENVE fork?

  • Excellent, really great work!!

  • Tasty. How is the headtube badge/decal plan coming along?

  • I think you have to apply a fair amount of heat, and the process is less than guaranteed or optimal.
You can spread the dropouts by 5mm to fit a 135 in say a 130, but you won't set it, and it will be a constant nightmare when you take the wheel out. And you risk stressing the frame to breaking point every time you do.

  • Thanks all! im pretty happy with these yeah, its really nice to get the track frame painted, its been sitting raw for almost a year now and always felt unfinished without paint.

@jono84 Cheers! yeah its a enve road fork, which has a bit more rake than is ideal but works out pretty well with this frame. Also has a brake hole which is nice for getting down to herne hill

  • Inspirational thread, really nice seeing the process and the results look real nice.

    HDIJ build

    Is this still happening?

  • Both bikes are gorgeous. Does the track bike have colored spokes or is it chromatic aberration?

  • Thanks! and yeah although its slightly different, i was thinking of building a frame for it but changed my mind and will just put those road levers on the track bike, ive gotta stop building bikes for myself hah.

  • Thanks :) its chromatic aberration yeah, no coloured spokes

  • How is the headtube badge

Fairly slowly, im still not really settled on a design or brandmark or whatever. I do have the stickers that i put on the downtube, which i dont hate the design of. But yeah not really sure which direction i will go yet. I also dont have that much stainless to practice with, and tend to keep the little bits i have for frame stuff like di2 ports and other things. Ill buy some stainless sheet at some point and just give a bunch of different designs a go.

  • Insane skills as always. Matching bikes are something else, they look great.

  • Thanks! I got some better photos, for some reason didnt clean the rims tho so covered in my fingerprints
