The Carradice is one of the rewards with the new book on Kickstarter via the link Skullyship shared.
You will only pay if you've backed it and the KS makes the target. Payment is requested/made at the end of the campaign. -

Oof... postage to Europe is a kick in the nuts
-
• #85
Yeah, I really want the book but £18 shipping + local VAT makes it quite an expensive read.

Just checked, paid 9 pounds shipping for nr1.
Yes, I think hate is the right word.

Hey, yes, I'm really sorry about the shipping. (F*ck Brexit.)
Kickstarter takes 10% on everything. So already that's £16.20. Postage to most of EU is currently about £14 (1.25kg). Then we have to pay the warehouse and buy packaging etc.
Also, we pay your VAT. After July, we pay upfront as it is imported into the EU: https://op.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/77255bf8-65cd-11eb-aeb5-01aa75ed71a1/language-en.
So I when I realised this I had to put the postage up slightly for the EU to cover the VAT across all potential countires. Actually we lose a bit of money…
ps – sorry for the uber boring post
pps – thanks for your interest in the book, it's going to be ace
ppps – F*CK BREXIT

It’s a great film isn’t it! Ron is a legend. I wrote the words below it ;-)
I remember when George and Donny failed to make it across on their 2015 trip, it really is no joke

What a dude, I hope to be still be cycling when I'm his age, proper inspirational.
I do love adventure and cycling, but that was going too far as they could barely manage any cycling by the looks of it, sounds like the original dudes walked most of it. If I wanted to spend that much time off the bike and walking I'd take up cross ;)

Mark the RSF Archivist and I have been discussing an RSF long weekend in the Cairngorms this summer based out of the Braemar Youth Hostel.
First a 2 day round trip with an overnight at the independent Glen Prosen Hostel.
Day one would start by first taking Jock's Road (Tolmounth) through Glen Callater and over into Glen Doll. From there we will either take the Kilbo Pass over to Glen Prosen. There is the alternative to take the road a short way from Glen Doll down to Glen Clova and take the easier Minister's Path over to Glen Prosen. The hostel at the top of Glen Prosen is beautiful with a great wood burning stove.
Day two will start with a quick crossing to the Blackwater Reservoir via the Hill of Strone. Likely a bit of hike a bike. From the reservoir the route takes the road then track up Glenisla to near Bessie Cairn. We will then take a left onto the Monega Pass back to Braemar. The Monega is the highest of The Mounth passes at over 1000m when it passes the summit of Glas Maol. Depending on progress and weather there is the option of a couple other summits while on the plateau before descending back down to Glen Clunie and onto Braemar.
For those with time there is the option for a final day's hike-a-bike through the Larig Ghru to Aviemore where folks can get the train back south. A true RSF experience.
Transport
The train can be taken to Aberdeen (90km), Dundee (90km) or Pitlochry (60km) and then onwards by bike to Braemar distances in brackets. From Aberdeen there is also the option of a regular bus to Braemar which takes bikes. However the cycle up Deeside is lovely too.https://www.komoot.com/tour/328900398?ref=wtd
