• Will be on same train. No idea about mud levels, these are the only ones I have so they'll have to do.

    Downloaded GPX from Komoot, let me know if that looks ok/works.

  • Also, looks like a slight northerly headwind, not full-on arctic blast but could be nippier than forecast suggests in exposed areas.

  • Thanks! I use the OS app, prefer the clear info about bridles/paths/contours that I’m used to.

  • OK I’m going to stick to semi-knobbles, given there’s going to be a fair bit of tarmac.

  • Looks like we're all on the same train!

  • What trains have you booked for the return journey?
    @Skülly
    @ElGonzo

  • I never book anything

  • I suppose we might be in Cambridge by 3? 4? I will almost certainly be drawn to a good hostelry near the station for a cleansing ale.

  • Same, not booked a return.

  • Ok cool

  • Gonna throw a down jacket into my bag for sitting out with a beer in that case.

  • The Old Ticket Office out the front of the station usually has a good selection of beers on.

  • I have a favourite, 1m ride from the station, The Devonshire Arms. Banging.

  • But thanks!

  • Good choice! Should’ve know you had a good knowledge of Cambridge pubs.

  • So long as we can sit with the bikes.

  • ^ this. Mine's a shit heap, but replacing it would be a million-year-long ball ache that I can do without!

  • OK I’m going to stick to semi-knobbles, given there’s going to be a fair bit of tarmac.

    Crap. This reminds me I haven't actually test driven the new tires I thought would be okay. OH WELL.

  • So long as we can sit with the bikes.

    You can

  • I'm only going off the komoot breakdown. Looking at the route on OS, it seems to be not very roady at all. We'll see.

  • Any last minute Rough Stuff-curious lurking here i wonder?

  • In other news, i will be bringing some oolong tea in a flask again. And sangers.

  • Been meaning to check in on this! The route from memory is quite off roady. I did edit the second half a bit after I did it last time as there was a decent section after Furneaux Pelham that was completely impassable by bike. Bit of a grey area for me now.

    I'm not booking a train back either and would be very keen for a drink afterwards.

    Layers will be required. Definitely going to be a different ride to last time. Got a bit wet, but it was warm-ish.

  • Take photos pliz.

  • I'm out, partner just got a positive PCR. Gutted, have a good one.
