Subbed. Lovely idea. Looking forward to the final pics.

Fantastic project.
I notice you’ve tacked the entire frame then gone back over doing the fillets. Would you say that was a better way to work than completing each joint as you go? Does tacking the whole thing really require the use of a jig?

Great project and a lovely story. I can only imagine how it's going to feel to see someone so close to you riding one of your frames. Awesome stuff.

Thanks.
Erm yeah, don’t see any other way tbh...tack in the jig, check alignment, braze. Jig is absolutely necessary for making sure everything is where it’s supposed to be but can’t imagine laying down the fillets in the jig so has to be done after.

Had another productive weekend on Suzies bike. Good vibes in the workshop, a full house, everyone hungover but cracking on with projects.
First up: filing the ST/TT/SS area and BB cluster
Getting stuck in with abrasive machines, leaving a mad surface texture but a good overall shape
Just realized I forgot to take ‘after’ pics...shiny smooth fillets incoming
Next brazing the dropout/stay junctions...filling them up then adding a bit of extra material to problem zones to make sure I can shape them up the way I want.
While they’re cooling off and soaking I prepared the stainless dropout faces. Only got drive side ones left so had to reshape one for the NDS
Clean up in progress

Bridge and braze on prep
Brazing done
Just the final clean up to do. I’m generally motivated early mornings so hoping to get it finished tomorrow before work. Stay tuned

Its so nice to finally see some talent and some smooth fillets in a current project thread.
At first I thought the dropouts would be a bit boring but with that transition to the stays they are gorgeous. They will be even better with the stainless faces.
Top work, very inspiring!

Amazing! What abrasive machines did you use on the fillets?

Thanks, though there’s countless talented folks gracing the pages of this forum making things far more interesting than smooth fillets

Power file, dremel, carbide burs

DT cable stop brazing, technique from the wise Dario Pegoretti
Wasn’t originally planning on brazing on a seatclamp but it’s a nice little touch and one less thing to source for assembly
Nothing like taking an angle grinder to a finished frame to get the nerves jangling!
Final finishing touch
