It's in great condition and from a bit of research it's 1991.
It's rolling ready and all I'm going to do at first is give the frame a good clean along with the components.

Nice forks.

These look great original but that's really tidy with the RC 30s

Maxxis DTH tanwall.

I'm liking my Maxxis Holy Rollers a lot

Edit, not really slicks but they have a nice round profile and low threads.

Schwalbe Big Apples or Maxxis DTHs would be my two main choices for sure.

But this bike needs knobbed tires.

Yeah I agree. Needs knobblies. Buys first MTB, asks about road tyres? Put road tyres on your road bikes and fall in love with MTBing. Off road :)
