Just so everyone is on the same page, as @brucy suggests, the hanger needs to be isolated from the suspension and so mounted on the blue brace of the lowers rather than the crown.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the asethetics. There is a reason most sus forks run V brakes....
Edit: just seen most early sids were only drilled on the lower brace, so looks like you'll be fine. Still, are you going cantis cos that's what's in the parts bin?
Rest of it looks banging though. Lovely stuff.

Haha, yes, I really felt pretty stupid this morning when I realized you can't use a steerer tube mounted cable hanger when using canti's on suspension forks. :)
I choose the canti's as I really wanted the Ritchey Logic canti's. These are so iconic and were still used in 1996.
About the tires: skinwalls look best so I think I'll look for a set skinwalled Z Max WCS.

Cool beans. If you can colour match the hanger you'll get extra points.

Maybe I better order one of these.

Can you get the seatpost clamped up alright with that canti hanger in there? Looks hella tight.

That was my doubt too when I ordered it. But it worked out well, the seatpost doesn't move at all. :)

Another part arrived. All I need is a shim to mount this 34.9 derailleur on the 28.6 tube.

Long time since I've been working on this project. Still not finished but found -accidentally- a pair of NOS WCS pedals at a local bike shop's summer clear out.

Missed this first time round, looks great!

I really wanted to test ride this before the bad weather comes so took the time today to finish this project. Will probably in the future -when funds are present- change the wheels for some Ritchey rimmed XTR 950's.

Thanks, @vp1337
I took it out for a short ride (to the bakery) and it's fantastic. Not sure if I ever will have the guts to go offroad with it. ;)

That is lovely, good effort. Deffo take it off road, if only to reminisce about how sketchy early 90s mtbs really were. These things are made to be used.

This is a late nineties one and geo was pretty ok by then. Ofcourse not like modern 29'ers, for I have to admit: modern bikes do ride better. ;) But riding these older style 26'ers is pure fun.

Concur with the fun part

Update on this project. Decided to change the build from "heritage version" (Logic canti's) to era correct. Not that much of a difference though: only changing the canti's for XTR M 950 V brakes/trigger shifters.

Not sure about the crankset...
I mean: it's fabulous but I believe I should keep the Ritchey.

Those xtr cranks are fabulous, but the Ritchey suits it better . You need another project to put the xtr ‘s on. ..

Hahaha, yes, I probably do. :)
I vote to leave the flite and the gumwalls. Looking super nice!
