managed to get a much more comfortable set up with the Shimano brifters
As Phil says, if you already like the STI shape, get some STIs and gut them. You should be able to round up something with failed gear shift parts for cheap. I believe the TRP RRL is supposed to be for people who like the STI shape, but you can probably get actual Shimano for less

Single speed levers are usually terrible in the hand ime.
With the exception of Sram and (now defunct) Cane Creek SCR-5.
Speaking of Shimano; any trick to stop it waddling (the shift parts)

I'd say the TRP RRL feels closer to a Campag Ergopower lever than an STI. They're my favourite but may not be best suited to smaller hands. Also don't underestimate the effect that saddle-to-bar drop has on lever feel and comfort. The upward-tilted stem and levers suggest you're already trying to compensate for insufficient stack.

Cane Creek SCR-5.
I found these incredibly uncomfortable but obviously everyone's different.
Sram ones are the same shape as their shifters so work well but Shimano are comfier imoSpeaking of Shimano; any trick to stop it waddling (the shift parts)
I'm using some 6800 era di2 levers. Exactly because they don't move sideways

Are we sharing single speeds now?

Maybe a shorter stem, and brake levers down a fair bit.
I use the TRP rrl levers, I find them very comfortable, and with the reach widget fitted have no problems reaching the lever when "in the drops", I don't have particularly big hands either. -

I love my CC scr-5s and gutted sram shifters.
I think I like a flat transition over a curved one.

Sorry sir. But I do love how those levers feel.

I was just kidding..bike looks great

No worries fella, but you were right. Somebody I know refers to his SS as a fixedgear and it drives me crazy.
TBH is a great bike, but it has no place in this thread.
My Dolan on the other hand…

I've had the Sram S500 on two different bikes and I really like them.

Damn!

I did this with campag, 10s new shape centaur for 20 bones cos the shifter was broken. They are pretty easy to rip the shifting gubbins out.

I figured that might be the case 😫 ah well
Just any 8/9/10/11 speed shifters and only use the brake levers. Will be cheapest option probably and the most comfortable.
