I know, mini v are hard to get a good feedback but ultimately work great when set up well.
Funnily enough the feedback feel like mechanical disc without the usual compressionless housing etc.

A brake! :)
Looks good. Love that saddle on it.
If we’re posting reader’s wives, here’s mine. Hasn’t changed for 7 or 8 years at this point.

I kinda remember your spec actually, Nitto bar back then when they’re the only best choice for 26mm clamp?

I think I tried a Nitto noodle bar for a bit but settled on a compact shape in the end, these are Soma Hwy One. That’s maybe the one upgrade it could stand to have, swapping those out for an M106.
After I snapped the Romin (#fatlad) I put an old Flite Ti on it, that’s been perfect. Thomson Elite post, CK headset, Pearl, second hand set of 75s with a Campag BB, EAI cog. Shimano levers and 6700 brake. Atomic22 security bolts on the seatpost and seat tube clamp. The wheels are the first set I ever built myself, over ten years ago now. I’ve replaced the bearings in the rear hub but never had to true either of them.

I do wish I hadn’t ordered it in purple but I’m committed to it now.

No it’s awesome, too many dark green/red/blue road bike out there as it is

Silver or like a petrol blue flamboyant would probably have been a better choice. But it is what it is.
The red downtube decals are aftermarket jobs stuck on top of the clearcoat, they look crap close up but the red on the purple pops in a fun way and they’ve lasted surprisingly well. When I put them on I thought they’d have faded or peeled off within six months.

absolutely not! I am the same. Maybe a bit of covid gloom.

Yeah, think there's a lot of that going about, the group I (use to) ride with has completely disintegrated, solo Saturday morning rides at the moment.
I've always been a bit of a gloomy/grumpy bastard, so life's pretty much the same. -

The purple and red is so-bad-it’s-good.
I’m all for bikes with character.

That’s perfect. Old school winter bike.

The market decided I should keep it. It’s back in storage at the moment.

I wanted to justify it but it was too big.

That’s the one I remember you having that Nitto compact then.

Yeah, that has the M106 NAS on. My favourite bars.

How similar are the M106 to the hwy one’s? Shape looks similar, assuming less flex?
Have a set of the hwy ones that’s I’ve been meaning to setup on my Mercian Vig with some Record carbon levers. Have been putting it off forever as I’m not sure how to make sure the left lever doesn’t chatter without a cable connected

Take off the lever blade.

The M106 is a lot stiffer, yes. The curve is also tighter than the Hwy One. There's more of a single position where your hand nestles in the drop, the Somas are more like a continuous shallow curve.

Biro spring 🙂
Actually that's the most tricky of the various methods, but lots of people have de-clattered their Campag and SRAM orphan brake levers without resorting to binning the blade, which is good because the blade forms a useful part of the grip security in some positions.

I just stuffed a ball of masking tape behind the lever on my road fixed. Worked a treat.

Are the levers not sprung?
I’ve only ever used tektro levers and I find the spring is enough that the rattle doesn’t bother me.
I miss you the buyer/influencer, the new amey seems a little pissed off with the world, less sunny, then again, could just be me.
