Will be a stunning route I imagine.

Anyone here taking part?
-
• #5
Given climbing is such a forte of mine, it's on my list...
-
• #6
Get on the special sauce and you can climb like Pantani for a week.

I think UKAD might frown on that and it'd take so much EPO to make up for the extra 40kg I'd basically be a walking red blood cell.

I know and it looks cool. I've already filled most weekends in June with 600s though so it might be tricky. Transiberica looks neat too. Shit, can someone just fill in for me at work while I fuck about on bikes for a year?
-
• #10
Just think about the amount of food you'll need to eat to fuel the ride
-
• #11
Oh man, instantly have a route in my head! Done a bunch of riding there this year and it's going to be amazing.

Very tempted by both. Don't know how much piss taking I can do with time off. Actually yeah I do, lots. Do you do a combo discount entry? :)

So there are two transpyrenees now?

• #19
Already 51 racers on the start line!!
-
• #20
Anyone on here racing? What are you thinking about return flights? I have no idea how slowly I'll finish something so lumpy so I'm thinking I'll just book something last minute from San Sebastian rather than book something then change it.
-
• #21
Haven't booked flights yet - am in the same situation trying to work out when I could possibly finish.
-
• #22
When are you heading out?
-
• #23
Flying out on the 27th. Was thinking of booking return on the 5th but there's not much from San Seb so was seeing if I could bus to Bilbao with the bike in a box and then fly from there.
There's a size limit on the buses though, 100x60x25 I think, so I'm not sure if they'll take a bike box. Normally my missus would come out with my bikeboxallan but in this case I'll be shipping in cardboard boxes both ways I think.
In the end I gave up and figured I'd book something when I'm there at slightly higher cost but I'm open to smarter suggestions. -

If your willing to brave ryainair, you can get a train from San Seb to Biarritz and flight out of there
-
• #25
I checked hiring car from SanSeb and leaving it at Bilabo airport - I think it was about 150 for the day. My ideal scenario would be a late afternoon flight out of Bilabo on the Thurday but not sure if being to ambitious.
