Exactly that!
Compass tyres were an exhilarating ride but only in the sense that you would go into corners fearing for your life.
I don’t think my butt cheeks have ever clenched so hard as when using Compass tyres and you can quote me on that.

Choosing paint around a headset = ???
If you've gone off pink generally though, fair, it's a very big colour.Keen to see this, hear your thoughts on the gks and for a ride report. I did my first sscx ride in ages today, 40x18 on mud/scary mud/gravel/tarmac (all flat) and found it a good compromise. For longer rides w/more tarmac I'd want a bigger gear for sure but maybe with a load it's spot on? Translating to fixed I'd probs gear up a little too? I'm creating more questions than I'm answering

I think the only thing thinner than these tyres is french public bathroom toilet paper

Not sure about urban London streets. But gravelkings (and compass) tires have both held up well on gnarly swedish gravel roads for a few seasons now. Two flats so far. Both from glass. 700c versions only.

Was thinking of getting some of those for Paris Roubaix Roubaix next year... whats the alternative without going down the Marathon route?... unless your suggesting that french public bathroom toilet paper makes a good boot?

I did PR on Compass (and fixed) and survived.
Consider Vittoria Hyper Voyagers if you can find a set

I used the tubeless 650b versions specifically, one thing I noticed was they're not true gumwalls it's just an effect. The tubed ones are true gumwalls.
I had the total slick ones and On the finty gravel of the new forest I had two punctures, but as I was tubeleas I didn't notice till later.
I feel the ones with tred will be tougher though.@dogs G-Ones all the way, they're amazing all round

As an aside (while I wait for Christmas and NY to pass and for the frame to be finished) this bike was always meant to satisfy two itches; one a gravel fixed gear and two, a HHSB that I could skid around town on and pretend to be cool.
Unfortunately, my desire to own something with a quill stem and super tight clearances has not been satisfied, so I've picked up the following...
Not really sure how I'm going to build it yet; thinking either go classic with NJS parts or go a bit ratty and chuck a mis-match of things at it like a modern wheelset, carbon risers, ti stem etc. I quite like the rattiness of the frame and think that either ratty or class would work but open to suggestions.

That looks a lot bigger than the frame you're having built. Headtube looks closed to 280 than 180.

Think it’s the spacers on the headset and the photo angle making it look bigger than it is.
The Hansom is 62ctc seattube and 58ctc toptube.

Why not give Euan a lunchtime project? Sure he’d take up the challenge to do something disco fantastic and not tacky for a good price

Looks rad by the way, all quality, all fun and good to see #lunchtimeprojects a go

So Euan is painting this!
I've gone for a colour called gentian blue, it kinda reminds me of the blue used on the old C'dale track bikes.

I haven’t forgotten about this, the paint took longer than expected but it’s finally ready to build.
Have thrown components on for now to see how it looks, reach appears to be spot on. I’m really happy with it, should be perfect for razzing around on!
Dropping it off at the Bicycle Works tomorrow, hopefully built soon.

so zero grip then?
