Race around The Netherlands

Pretty good summary there. Good effort on testing your limits and well done on a top 20 in a surprisingly difficult event.

We got lucky in the hills. One day sooner and we would have hit snow.

I'm not sure. I got to the hostel, but after an hour in the dorm room I had a sudden change of heart and went booking.com, just so that i could guarantee some sleep. I'm this guy if that helps...

Did you do it on flats?!

Yeah. I have had a couple of knee surgeries so like to have a lot of movement in case it locks out.

What shoes do you use in hot weather?
I've been using FiveTens but don't fancy them in the summer.

I use some Salamon cross-running shoes which have been fantastic.

Some irony in almost freezing to death out there and yet I'm peeling sunburnt skin off... :S

Also, I was right to visit a dentist. Drillin' and fillin' next week.

Yeah, peeling nose and face and a lot of comments at work on my "suntan" (windburn).

I'd better go see the dentist. All those stroopwaffels will have left their mark I'm sure.

I had toothache during the race. X-ray the other day and there's a big hole in a tooth. The junk food can't help but it's more how my wisdom tooth grew on an angle that caused it.

Bike will get its new drivetrain tomorrow I hope.

Everything I know about ultra I learned from Hippy. You're telling me that beer isn't an essential part of racing? pffff!
