  • Little bit of tidying needed otherwise this is done. Bar cranks it looks ok, rides very nicely

  • And I found an OG fork for the track bike. Sadly there’s little to no chance I’ll be getting back on the track this year so may have to consider moving this on

  • Track wheels for sale? 👀

  • Seconding the above comment.
The ladies 10 is very cool like that. Still slammed

  • Raises Hand.... especially if its a 54.

  • Nah holding on to them for the Dart

  • The ladies 10 is very cool like that. Still slammed

Cheers, yeah even with that setup it's a smidge taller than the 9 so win win. I've got the original fork if i want it taller still but the likelihood is it'll just be for zippy short rides. Kind of wish it didn't have the braze on mount as i'd probably go 1X.

  • Yep 54 and noted. Need to decide which frames to move on first but this is likely on the list. Did throw on some risers and it’s a lot of fun

  • But then did the same with Dart and I think it’s still my favourite

  • Prefer the dart for sure

  • Missed this update. Looks great.

Does the braze on mount actually stop you running 1x?

  • Cheers, no nothing stopping me from going 1X with the mount just think it'll look a bit crap. If i could find something like this but round then maybe i'll give it a try

  • i have a fantastic stealthed sram exogram 130bcd that i am running 1x on a gravel with a 40t ring, so light.

  • I'll take either, more photos of doggo please.

  • You can always drill the hanger rivets, if riveted

  • Gah, i didn't know these came in BB30, there's some 165's on the bay i'd probably stretch for had i not just converted to threaded! 24mm 165 length options please.

  • Shoulder injury means I'm pretty much limited to commuter riding atm so figured I'd give the Surly a clean and service. This is due a few updates but this setup has been great for the last 6 months

  • And boredom over Christmas got the better of me so I decided to give this some attention

  • After a bottle of acetone and some careful wet and dry work it's almost back to where it started. I'm going to feather in the paint and blow in some black where it's gone back to bare metal then if I'm still not getting on with the standard finish I'll think about getting it resprayed

  • How’s this going?

  • It's going, priority has been clearing stuff out and topping up the bike piggy bank but i'm almost there now. Just started thinking about how i'm going to rebuild the Dart, Steamroller and CAAD10 track because i really can't be dealing with selling anymore stuff right now!

  • They are three very cool bikes that I’d love to own so totally understand! I’ve got dreams of owning a wider tyre fixie as a commuter/city bike, a riser bar track bike for when ya wanna feel ‘fast’ and nippy out n about, and a dedicated track bike. But I just don’t have the space <\3. You’ve got a pretty perfect trio of bikes for that!

  • Fkn clean cave 😳😳😳

  • LOVE that steamroller.

  • Right, project clear out is almost complete. Goal was to build up 4 bikes using what i have and get rid of everything else. Bar some tyres, different length stems and a few service consumables i'm pretty much there. Due to ongoing injuries i did consider having a much bigger clear out but in the end i decided having the bikes built up might mean i actually use them as opposed to thinking about a new project every time i want to go for a ride. I also don't find built up bikes as distracting as bits everywhere and selling things now seems a sure fire way to spending double if/when i want stuff back.

Brief for fixed bikes is not far off what @ojwithbits mentioned up thread:

All year round lock up bike that isn't overly heavy/dull to ride
Big tyre bike for weekend rides and chill commutes
Something light and nippy for track and sunny day commutes

I'd also like something that i can use some of my nicer parts on that won't leave me with lock up anxiety or feeling grossly over biked when i show my face again at the track or join a road club. Road bike is together so won't be messing with that right now but my three fixed frames have been stripped and are ready to be built up.
