  • Kill Team 40k looks great. I'm just back from a night with a mate getting our teams ready

  • This guy is selling a little posse.

  • Holy shit I din't realise I could potentially be giving a lift to a warhammer nerd. I'll tell my wife I'm going to a CX race and we'll just go GW in the Arndale and batter 12-year-olds (at Necromunda) for four hours.

  • Dare’s

in the title is bugging the shit out of me.

  • Hahaha I came on to confirm the lift but a better plan has been made

  • Finally finished painting my first ork for my killteam. It's not perfect, but I'm happy. I find it hard to let go of little issues that draw your eye when you're focusing on the detail - have to remember they're usually viewed from a metre or so away

  • looks good, it's a lot neater than the ones i've been painting for my Zombicide games. don't have any recent pics but there's this one from when I started (pre-wash and then covering in gore which is how I cover up all my happy little accidents as bob ross would say).

I managed to get through painting at least a hundred minis before painting fatigue set in over dec/jan. I have a pile of primed ones sitting on a tray under my desk in the living room waiting for me to finish them (about seventy more).

bought a handful of custom ones to try and spark my interest, next ones are these

    and then these...

  • I've a few Necromunda gangs about, had just started buying them up when GW re-released.

One of the thing's I'm looking at getting a 3d printer for is to do bulkheads again. There are some nice ones floating round thingiverse.

  • I've always liked the look of that game. I was looking into laser cutting some bits of scenery and found there are companies selling kits for really reasonable prices. A pal bought some but I haven't heard back how it went together.

  • I've only ever played the original version, not the new one. The modular bulkheads for it are amazing. I got given a copy of the base game by a friend, having managed to get my hands on the expansion cheap. The original game goes for like £100+, which is nuts.

It's one of the best tabletop squad based shooter's I've ever played.

I've still got my original Spyrer gang, and have managed to get my hands on a couple more of the standard gangs too.

With the smaller gang sizes, it was one of the most affordable GW games ever I think

  • So, I've got a bunch more time on my hands now so I just ordered this

I've not collected or played since I was like 15 but I've been toying with it for ages. I saw there's some clubs that meet up around London to play.

  • Nice. The quality of the miniatures in those sets now is insane. Post updates as you go, I'm intending on getting my orks back out over the next couple weeks.

  • I used to wargame with my cuz back in the early 80's; mainly Napoleonic and a bit of ACW.

I gave up but he carried on and is actually a really talented painter. Has his own youtube channel now and is well respected in that world. Here's an example of his painting

  • the Know No Fear box turned up, I also ordered an essentials paint set which should do until I get back into the swing of things. Goddam the new figures have a lot of detail, no way I have a thin enough paintbrush. I'm really pleased with them but also kinda scared about painting them now.

  • It might be worth looking at their new contrast paints, supposedly a really easy way to get great results

  • Oh nice, will do. At least this time round I know how to do washes and proper paint thinning. The only thing I'm lacking is a space for spraying base coats so I'll just have to hand paint them.

  • Can't believe not seen thread before.

Was shit at playing loved the artwork specifically Spacemarine.

So much so that I took interest when it went to computer game platform.

I still think a Hollywood Epic should be made.

Height for me was Adeptus Titanicus. 😎

  • When Forge World started making them in 40k I was tempted. 😎

  • Yeah it's the great irony that they've got a really strong base of lore and massive fan base but really struggle to make a good video game or movie.

  • Having read the background of Spacemarine I definitely feel there is enough to create an Epic.

The Emperor, the legions, the scale and World are perfect imo. As you say. A huge fan base.

With CGI as it is now I think it would be doable. With a crazy budget for big name actors.

    I want 50% ;oP

  • Sooo, yeah. I'm way into that rabbit hole. Started back into 40k three years ago and now am on my third army. My instagram account is full of pictures of tiny painted plastic things, and friends have actually started a Youtube channel with hobby content.

If anyone needs some help/directions in terms of painting, playing, communities, whatver: hit me up, I'm happy to help.

  • I finally built all the models in the set and now I need to start painting. I can't use spray paint and I don't think I can justify an airbrush just yet so for the primer coat I'm trying a really watered down white layer and hopefully I won't lose too much detail.

  • Thinning your paints is always a good idea.

Did you use a "normal" colour for the basecoat, or one labeled "primer" or something similar? Primer colours are designed to stick better to raw plastic.

  • Normal, I've not got a primer yet. I put some base colours down and a wash but I'm really struggling with highlights. This first model is definitely a tester.
