There's a ferry between Felixstowe and Harwich, so you could make a nice loop out of that in either direction: regular trains from Harwich to Maningtree and the mainline to London, although it's easily ridden.

Right, I'm throwing this out if anyone wants to come along. I fancy going to watch a bit of the tour of Britain, and am thinking of a bit of a mini tour. I've got 12 days off work, but I envisage this taking about 5ish?

.i would like to see the start of stage 2 near Exeter, if the logistics with work, work out on Sep 3rd, or the end of the stage maybe? Then make my way to leamington spa for the end of stage 4? And have a bit of a mooch around before making my way home.
At the moment it's a very rough plan, and might stay that way to be fair. I might miss the bits I wanted to see even, but I thought I'd put it here so that I will not waste these days off! Whatever happens, I'll be riding my bike and being hobo-like for a few days....
