You have to think ahead. That one tile is now blocking the square expansion to the west. Get that one tile, focus on north east and the square will grow with 7 rows in no time.

Would increase the options to increase the square though

I want to start tiling again, got a few routes lined up but waiting for a bit more daylight.

I now have a slight quandary.
Do I make my routes bigger away from the square for a big jump in the future or keep closer, expanding the square more frequently.

Yup, had the same last year. Cycling away from the square each ride is more time efficient because you don't have to travel further and further each time.

I’m trying to add in Climbs on the 100 climbs etc lists too

One measly new tile (Dovedale) on yesterday’s 50-miler. Took a bit of ‘exploring’ to find an accessible route. Bumped my max square from 23x23 to 25x25 though :)

40 x 40 is impressive. I'm currently on 30 x 30 but with a few well planned rides this year I can hopefully fill in some holes and get to somewhere near 40 x 40.

Finished the Brussels tiles today, glad that is done. The two biggest cities, Brussels and Antwerp, are covered so now I can focus on expanding south.

That’s so impressive. what in that tile near Mechelen ? Is there something stopping you getting it ? I’ve got a few local to me that have an oil refinery and navy bases that are stopping me from getting them.
