Apparently there's a delivery coming in today of Stans, but thanks all who have offered their private stash.

The flying barspin manoeuvre reduces the wheelbase enough to get it on the rack comfortably

Ace. Early days but happy with it?

I’ve ridden it up and down by the garages so far, and it did that very well!
My Lyrik shock tokens don’t look they’re going to come now, so I need to find a bike shop in Morgins to get a couple, and put sealant in the tyres, then I’m going to set up the suspension in the bike park.
Rear brake feels a bit spongy so I’ll probably ask the bike shop to bleed them before I head out.
It feels very nicely made, and I think it looks good.

I know we’re a complete ocean away, but we’ve almost always got a few kicking around from Specialized builds.
Call some Spec dealers?

I have a single spare grey rockshox token in Sydenham if that's any help

I’m hopeful that there will be a bike shop in Morgins that has some, but thanks for the offers chaps.

This airshaft bumper is different then the diagrams. Do I have it orientated correctly?
NM I got it.

Are there alternatives to the Wolf Tooth lower headset extender or Niner Puck that can extend a headset 10-15mm but for a 52 lower instead of a 56?

We can’t get the rear brake to firm up, annoyingly.
-
• #3039
Does it firm up after some judicious pumping of the lever?

can’t get the rear brake to firm up
cos magura brakes are shit.
Nah I'm joking. But theres no good reason for not having a similar feel to the front. It's almost certainly user error at a certain point during the bleed procedure.
Theres anecdotal evidence online that suggest getting a good bleed can be tricky but achievable. -

On the surface this seems insightful, but then on consideration it's applicable to every hydraulic brake or apparatus ever constructed; completely filling the interior of a complex shape with a fluid whilst simultaneously evacuating all gas is a non-trivial task, almost the definition of a PITA.
-
• #3042
Yeah but especially applicable to magura brakes. I know you love magura brakes though and love to defend them! But they are shit :)

not with sram brakes that have the bleeding edge port

Before or after the PITA?

I ordered a complete rear brake (I believe, fuck I need to check it’s not a front!), we’ll see when that turns up. It firms up with pumpy pumpy, but they tried to bleed it for an hour and no joy.
Also, my rear shock is missing it’s nitrile indicator ring thing, which makes setting sag quite exciting.

Did they take it off the bike?
Nill points if not.

It kinda seem like this thread as a general mtb thread, no?
-
• #3049
No, you want the MTB thread that lives in the rides and races section (obviously).

Second run and much better with a) grip and b) brakes.
Off for #3
I have most of a bottle in SE8
It's 5 years old but has spent all of that time in my tool cupboard
