You haven't considered going for coil shock/ fork?

Coils are ferociously lovely.

It also a lot of fucking about to get the correct spring, and I’m not sure there’s room for one. I think air is easier.

No, Scalpel today- and F had a good time, went OTB once but frankly that hire bike wasn’t helping her, it accelerated when you feathered the brakes, then with a bit more pressure red shifted.

Great to see you again and to see you out enjoying the trails- no doubt we’ll bump into you there again.

Those basic bikes looks not so great. Do they not have anything better? Or were there few options?

We hired what they had. I'm now looking for a hard tail suitable for someone 5'5.5", so any and all recommendations welcome.

My Orange Crush was the same money and was better spec. You'll find something better if you shop around. I don't think the current Vituses are good value for money on paper anymore.

Had to have been on sale, right? Looking at the Vitus there’s not much to dislike about the spec and it’s just over £1k. Cheap. They didn’t even skimp on the tyres.

However, you can't seem to buy one.

The Orange Crush in S that I can find are £1,700.
