You can even use the fancy SWAT box, to store all the cash you've saved!

Seriously, Trek, Spesh, Giant around £2.5k, 120mm 29er. Take your pick and stop messing about.

'Better' - it's called a Jeffsy ffs. It's also got 20mm extra travel which doesn't fit the brief

Hmm, what does Giant have to offer? My last "proper" MTB was a Giant and I really liked that bike.
Note - 25 years ago.

They're Germans... They obviously think the name is funny...
An extra 20mm of suspension isn't going to be a problem to live with and spec for money you cannot get a better new bike than YT.

The problem with all of these brands is they're selling off their name to a large extent. Plenty of smaller manufacturers out there offering far better spec for the price.

Whatever you buy, it needs to have the new XTR kit with the 51t 12 speed.
I have no idea what the fuck I am even saying.
But it does.

I quite like the look of the Camber that was posted (the cheaper one), but current thinking is still the Cannondale, because I enjoy being punched in the face by a company when their product goes wrong.

And some coaching. Srsly.

You need an Ellsworth...

Coaching is conducted by experts, have you been living under a rock these past two years?
-
• #242
Having undertaking coaching, I am now riding successfully over rocks!

No one posted anything steel and British yet? I've always fancied one of these. Maybe not quite as light as the other offerings, but steel is real isn't it?

No undertaking. Especially coaches. Not safe.

Evans is out of Scalel SE’s and CSG is also.
Habit SE they have, however- 650b and 130mm, would it be a nightmare on SDW?
-
• #248
Literally unrideable
-
• #249
I have one, I like it a lot. I bought it because it was capable of doing the silly stuff I do at my level (basically trail centre Reds and Blues with the occasional Black) and you can ride it all day without it killing you.
That said, I'd swap it and my F-Si for the Scalpel SE because it covers both bases.
That chap Mel who came with us on the SDW was riding the non SE Habit Carbon 1.

See, Cannondale can't even be bothered to sell you a bike.
I thought we'd had enough of experts?
