I've had a pair of them sitting in the living room for the last 2 years. Must build them up into wheels one day.

I've still got a lot to do on that project. Finish stripping the frame, smooth the brazing and add some new fixtures, get it chromed, work out whether I can use the guts from a Di2 mech to operate a Brompton 3 speed derailleur...

• #183
That needs a project thread
-
• #184
smooth the brazes?! are loosing your mind..
-
• #185
I've often wondered how silly I'd look on a Brompton, as Millar is 10cm shorter I now have an idea!
-
• #186
you just need a telescopic and p type stem / flat bars!

Desperate play for a blue peter badge I reckon

Do you mean those cateye fork mounts for the Brompton? Most of the places I see that sell them online have them as 'out of stock'! I had to hack a Brompton front dynamo fitting with a Cateye centre fork mount.
Hahaha people aren’t buying them! 2 sets have gone to London, and we are building up a few custom ones...

When I actually get round to starting it, it'll have one.

I've made a fillet brazed frame before. I like filing brazed joints.

I like filing brazed joints.
I read this as I like blazing joints :)

Aye me too, but for me, the beauty is seeing the waves, then you can see the quality of the braze, anyone can muller a load on a file it back!
-

I've already got a bare lacquer frame for admiring brazing artistry. TBH, the brazing on the project frame is nothing to write home about. It's a SWB model so it's pretty old from Brompton's early days.

I see! Makes sense to modify them!

Another upgrade/bling component towards the daily workhorse, decided to take @maynardeames idea and brought a CK spurcycle Bell, and dang is it loud! Super happy with this this little purchase especially has the colour matches with the CHPT3 quite nicely:

Now we have the issue of getting the old bell off the right shifter, am I being stupid or is there a bolt I need to undo to get it off, or do I need to just a righy lever replacement?

Bolt right in the middle of the bell?

Yes Hoke! That’s pucker.
Just undo the bolt in the middle of the old bell!
-
• #199
