  • I'll probs just use the one above , thank you though.

Being very indecisive about wheels still. Found these sup clinchers cheap. Probably not the strongest of wheels so will probably hold out for something stronger and with wider rims. I do think grey rims will look cool with raw finish though.

  • i like your chainring! did you guys ever think of going oval? or is it just a fad... not really an upgrade?

  • It crossed my mind, but aesthetically i prefer circular.

  • aesthetically i am also for circular but i would like to try oval sometime! they say the shimano biopace is "wrong" but could we flip one around to mimic the position of the new ovals to get a feel of the ride? i must try it

  • Looks good. Is there a limit on how much seatpost to go into seat tube ? This is very long and I understand that not all the tube will be reamed for post ?

  • Varies but As long as it goes in I wouldn’t worry about it. You could cut it shorter if necessary?

Sometimes the bottle cage mounts cause it to stop as well..

  • It’s feels like I’m forcing it quite a bit about half way.

  • Are you using grease?

  • May be build up of dirt / debris. Could try and clean it up with some fine sandpaper attached to a pole? If butting was stopping it you wouldn’t be able to push it in at all really

  • Yes . Was extremely hard to remove seat post just now . The old post struggled to insert further at same part of seat tube . @MCamb will give it a clean, butting is far lower in the seat tube so can rule that out

  • Need to get this back on track . These look like decent road wheels ? Nearly new - Worth £85? Also on look out for zee rear mech still.

  • Are they nearly new?

I'd want to see a close up of the braking surface.

  • You need them in your hands to make a call on condition.

I’d check the wheels are true and round and that there is brake track left, the freehub body for notching, none of the nipples or locknuts are rounded-off and that none of the bearings are shot.

  • been out the country for 3 weeks so haven't got any further with this. Keep getting outbid on wheelsets on eBay or forgetting to bid, oops. This arrived whilst I was away however.

  • Without jumping ahead of myself, I am also seriously contemplating painting the frame if geo is good. Suggestions welcome...

  • Wheels here . Thanks @PhilDAS for tyre suggestions. Went with 35c, might have been able to fit 42c but atleast there's space for guards. Now to sort out transmission and braking . Really want to paint this but it’ll be locked up from time to time so part of me want to keep it raw.

  • >They see me rollin they hatin

    Remove the rust and clearcoat...
That seatpost looks interesting but scary..

    Looking good anyway

  • Looks great already!

  • Bangin. Deserves those Paul cantis I’ve still got knocking about... ;)

  • so the wheels have these hubs which from a bit of research are 7-9 speed. To fit 10 speed will I need a new free hub?

  • 1mm spacer should do the trick.
