  • Aye. I drilled/filed them myself. Somethings up with the cabling for sure though as it doesn’t feel right. Might need more filing down to guide it better or the cable housing needs to be cut down maybe

  • New project now that Aende is nearly finished. -

Gonna go for mainly all black components, got a spare black salsa stem which I need to find some carbon riser bars for. Also need to find a black 650c wheelset which is probably going to be a bit of a myth...

  • Spinergy Rev-X is somewhat easy to find in 650c front/rear. Would be bonkers... DO IT!

  • Hed3 shirley

  • I'm inclined to agree

  • Hmm.. Obvs, double trispokes would be rad af but I'm actually trying to make this as commuter friendly/cheap as possible

  • How bad are these?

  • They're great, only problem is the spline on the carbon disc can wear so you get a bit of play. There was a recall, FSA basically just put a load of loctite in there. Not for skidding on, would be fine geared (is that the 130bcd version?)

  • I kinda get ya, so the carbon disc is sandwiched in between the rear lockring and the arm pretty much? Yeah its the 130bcd version.

  • Yep. I'd still be using mine if they cleared my stays.

  • Nice one. Copped them and will see how it goes. Got any recommendations for a good quality bb to go with them?

  • You'll need the FSA Isis BB, not sure on specifics I'm afraid

  • As someone who's been pursuing a 650c wheelset for some time, they're not as easy/cheap to pick up as people suggest.

And now I'll have a competitor?!

  • 26" wheels are often close enough to work in a 650c bike. Something like Mavic Crossride can be had fairly cheap and probably wouldn't look too out of place and are practical enough to commute on. Finding 25mm tyres in 26" might be more difficult.

But check the brakes reach before you buy anything

  • Sweet lord that is wonderful

  • ;-P

What colour you after? Im looking for all black, might be easier to try and source a few rims if you're keen?

  • Thank you! :-D

  • Can't wait to wrap black vinyl over the logos ..

  • Looking for Hed3c so all black. I have a damaged rear which I believe is repairable, and a front wheel which is Hed rim to a silver hope hub. Also have this odd Shimano 650c rear which has reverse pull spokes (they hook on the rim and screw at the hub) - that's silver.

  • .

  • Ended up buying a pair of 650c rims and only a front hub, struggling to find a 126mm spaced rear hub in all black. Also got a few bits wrapped in carbon vinyl -

The aende is nearly finished, just need to find a way to smoothen out the cable transitions as the brakes feel quite spongey and can't seem to work out what to do to make it less so. Also bought a few ceramic bearings to replaces the old ones on the Sug 75 disc

  • nods

  • Got the brakes feeling less spongey last night which was nice so moved onto the bar tape question. Not sure if the Sugino 75 bar tape that I have lying around really works on this tbh.. I've got yellow, pink, blue and light turquoise.. Got a feeling that its going to have to be black bar tape again on this one..

  • The yellow looks better than the pink imo, there's already a lot of different colours going on. I'd be inclined to go for black personally, let that frame pop.
