m6 banjo fittings for levers, any brand really...
-
• #79
Oh, so the other way round to the Shimano brakes. Interesting. Is it actually possible to fit banjos onto hoses yourself? I had assumed not
-
• #80
shimano make some. Looks like this:
but now I look at them they are probably too big.... no space in the lever body.
-
• #81
I could put those at the caliper end though. Good stuff

In lieu of anything exciting happening and a combination of heading home early feeling a bit ill and accidentally deleting the wrong file last night means more dicking about with BikeCAD was called for.

I think the type of bike lends itself to understated....drab to purple fade? Black decals.....

Turns out my flawless wheel reshuffle plan had a pretty big fucking flaw, because the DT 350 / WTB Asym wheels I bought are 28h. They need to be 32h.
Anyone want to buy some 'cross/gravel wheels?
-
• #95
Can you explain one more time what you have and what you need? I have some Superstar Comp 27.5" wheels I would like to swap for 29ers. Any good for you?
-
• #96
I currently have a Hope / KOM 27.5 wheelset on my Oka, and a spare 26" KOM that needs a matching Hope front hub. I intended to buy this DT 350 / Asym 29 wheelset, rebuild the DTs with the 27.5 KOMs, build the Asym 29s onto the rear Hope and an SP dynamo for this, and the 26" KOM on the front Hope.
Potentially a swap could work if I don't mind both wheelsets being 650b, what's the exact wheelset?

It is one of those that was on sale for £200 or £250. Novatec ish hubs and crest rims I believe. QR and 100/135. Could be made thru I believe
-
• #98
Hmm, potentially. Crests might be a bit light-duty for either bike. PM me some details/pics if you can

Urgh, there's a Vaya going (relatively) cheap here but it's a fucking 55 and I'm not sure a 130mm stem on a touring bike is really where it's at.

Should be more than fineee
brake stuff can be tricky. a mate and i tried quite a few things..
magura hs66/77 road levers to julie calipers (only low pressure disc brake), did not work - the levers did not push enough fluid, so brake force was nil (could turn the wheel by hand with fully compressed lever)
made the mistake of hooking up a hope converter box (mechanical to hydro) to shimano calipers, did not work - mineral oil fucked up the seals in the hope box (dot) and pistons seized
atm my project is to mate sram hrd levers to elixir5 calipers.. :D (no, i don't know when to give up), i hope that will succeed....... (in house products)
