  • Oh, for the space in which to build/keep it!

  • My four year old has been stuck at home recovering from surgery for the past couple of weeks so I decided that made it the ideal time to rebuild the Metroliner that I got for my 6th birthday and liberated from my parents loft last year. I've since been eBaying and Bricklinking loads of extra track (far more than shown below), along with the Club Car that I lusted after as a child and a more modern station.

It's been a big hit with my daughter who loves opening the carriages up and putting the people in and out, and frankly I'm enjoying it rather a lot in the evenings too!

Sadly with the interest rates the way they are, the dream of owning somewhere big enough to have a large permanent layout isn't happening any time soon, but I shall keep this out as long as I can until my long-suffering wife cries enough...

  • I rebuilt these two over the few days we stayed with my parents at Christmas time, I don't remember when the fight between the cup of tea and the pirate ship sails took place but sadly it seems the tea won fairly conclusively.

  • That brings back a lit of happy memories, I have some photos of that skeleton I took in the 80s.

  • Diplodocus shirley?

  • That’s what I thought. Certainly that’s what used to be in the central hall of the NHM - of which the model seems to recreate quite accurately……although I’m not sure it was named Shirley.

  • I've done a thing and uploaded an entry in a Lego Ideas challenge:

If I make it through initial sele tion I will call on you all to vote/support if you like it. Feel free to comment too.

  • Cool! What software u use? 😁

  • Me? None. All built by hand with genuine bricks from the actual original sets.
Shitty photo editing done in PS tho...

  • Fooled me! :o)

  • Outstanding work!

  • I butchered the Royal Knights Castle and bridge sets. As well as the same Admirals Ship as recently posted up thread by @ASTTer.
My brother had recently built them all up from the ground and he looked rather funny when he saw the veritable ruins left. Luckily, it's just lego so can be rebuild.

  • That’s awesome! I think that castle is at my parents somewhere too but I was never creative enough to have the idea of putting them together, excellent job

  • On display at the Jetty Museum in Windermere.

  • I think that was on the news a while ago, impressive!

  • That was one board of five.

Met the creator, a really nice guy.

    Very cool Lego indeed.

  • Yeah, saw it on the BBC. Super cool project.

  • Is that this museum? 🤔

  • Yes

  • Pretty cool. Can I see Wray Castle on there? 😁

  • Nope. That is a view of Crummock Water in the Buttermere valley.

The large hill on the right hand side is Mel Break.

The smaller one on the left hand side, on the crook of the lake is Rannerdale Knotts.

The rest of the horse shoe contains Red Pike, High Stile, Haystacks, Whiteside and Grassmoor, amongst others.

  • Any Lego Masters fans out there? Didn’t like the American or British one (too American, too low budget), but the Australian one is excellent.

Also, picked these up in a charity shop today, nice little rainy day activity.
