I read "Available 1/11" as "Available as 1:11 scale" and did a quadruple-take.
-
• #1035
Did some fag packet maths on that.
(assuming Lego model is to scale, and would need same increase rate of bricks to build bigger)
Lego Titanic is 1.35m long and has 9090 bricks to build it.
Real Titanic was 269m long.To build in lego at 1:11 scale would be a 24.45m long and need around 164630 bricks.
If the pricing was scaled accordingly, Lego would be asking for Ā£10,323.33. -

Nah, brickage scales as the cube of linear dimension, so more like 50 million bricks, although you could reduce that in bulk areas by using larger bricks.

I need more cigarettes to do those sums!

If anyone has any of the Architecture sets lying around and would be interested in selling them, I am currently collecting them with my 6 year old. Ideally looking for some of the discontinued cityscapes like San Francisco, Venice, Berlin, Sydney, Chicago, Las Vegas, Shanghai...

It's just another one of those display pieces that LEGO's been doing a lot of. Quite a lot of people seem to enjoy a LEGO one-off so they can put it on their mantelpiece/wherever.
In this case, it seems as if the initiative was Fender's, as there's also one from Mega Construx (minus the amp), so perhaps Fender approached both companies.

It looks better largely because they've gone for a single-piece scratchplate.
A comparison:

(LEGO version review: https://youtube.com/watch?v=uJd2d-4Z2a0
)I find them both odd because they're so small.

I got my gf the flower bouquet for her first job. Lovely set with quite a few flowers which you can also build together as many parts need to be done multiple times!
