But on a bike designed for 29"×2.whatever" it'll bust up your handling more than on a normal bike right? And with MTB shaped stays you often get less clearance on 650b than 29", not more.
But I'm sure it's within tolerable range of geometry

@frankenbike I did worry about the handling but didn't really have a clue on how to predict the effect of various changes
Tire choice is generally the reason but like I said, no hurry to switch it up with the clearances I have.

Could anyone recommend me a low stack headset cover for the arkose, the stock one is very tall sort of akin to this, and I'm messing around with the fit a bit

+mdcc_tester will sell you one

Do I need to be worried about clearance if I remove the triple and put 1x cranks in there?

Anything I should watch out for when de-cabling an arkose 2016? Never dealt with internal cabling before so any advice welcome!

did you find out about the lithium rims being run tubeless? ta
-
• #110
Sorry, I left the company a month ago!
-
• #111
i heard that they are, although I haven't tried using them tubeless yet. Pretty happy with the tires that come with it - used them on tarmac, dirty and a bit of mud on trails and they've been fine!

Is your bike up and running now? Did you ever post a pic or anything? Interested to hear how you're getting on with it
-
• #113
it is!
Fitted some 60mm guards with a wee flap at the front and feet are really nice and dry even if proper wet weather.
I haven't put the 1x bits on it yet, mostly cause I'm afraid to do it myself, get it wrong, then be without the bike for the next day.
Really nice comfy ride. Will probably get some bars with a little more rise and sweep but its been great riding to work and I even took it round a blue and red route on some local trails and it was fine!
Will post some pics later on.

Pretty much stock apart from guards. Been too busy/lazy to do anything else with it yet. Great bike though.

Hutchinson sector? Any good? Trying to find it in 32 at a decent price, no luck

They're ok. Think they've been discontinued.
-
• #120
I don't think they're discontinued. £37 a pop tough, may keep g-one speeds for that money
-
• #121
Fair enough, think I paid closer to £30 though for my 28s

Does anyone know if there will be 2019 model Pinnacle frames?

Answer is in the gravel thread I think.
Lighter weight, slightly lower bb, handle slightly lighter, good choices of heavy duty tyres that's a lots lighter than a similar 700c version etc.
