  • Such a good and tidy setup!

  • In action.

  • My complete rig weighs 22kg including water. Positively surprised.

  • Sweet! And I guess you're hanging out with @Tijs ? I recognise the bike, not the person :-)

  • Other way around! But yes.

    Sharp eye by the way.

  • @Tijs is doing a tour of Germany and dropped by. He stayed for a day and helped fit the 46/32 double. I had been postponing it for ages, but with the prospect of loaded climbing I really had to. It was a bit of a puzzle getting the right spacer stack but we figured it out in the end. Very happy he was there, there's a good chance I'd have binned the lot in frustration halfway through.

Which means the bike is now finished, so I have to take it apart for paint before the weather makes painting outside impossible. Current thinking is just going for white as the fork has white speckles. Maybe I should do the stays in the same blue as the fork?

Also very happy with the bags and how they performed on the two days I joined Tijs. Although I might go for a smaller bar bag and a pec-deck like solution with a Carradice-shaped bag on the back.

  • Awesome work, looks excellent. Really nice how the stripes tie together!

  • Impressive work!

  • So tidy, really like that green

  • Really like these bags, especially the way they fit/attach to the frame. Very tidy.

  • Thanks all!

So tidy, really like that green

It's called cadmium green, reminds me of those anti static soldering mats.

  • I think I’ll paint the frame in BMW’s Alpine White. Planning on getting a 2k epoxy primer and then car paint kit consisting of paint and high gloss lacquer. Should be a bit metallic if I’m reading it right. Will I regret playing it safe?

  • playing it safe gives you space for a fancy sticker or two, so maybe

  • Or jelly beans.

  • Added a basket to my own bike and moved over the head light to accommodate, I can strongly recommend using an IS-PM adapter for this as all 4 holes are threaded giving you lots of options.

Also added dynamo lights to my partner's bike. A boring old tyre dynamo, I think the whole set-up cost less than half decent battery powered lights with the added benefit of them not being stealable or forgettable.

  • I actually need something like that, but with backpak straps, outer pockets for lock/bidon/coffee, rolltop and lots of other features. I'll be in touch!

  • @LeMesjeu Sounds good!

Stripped for paint. Sanded away the rust, and have some filler here and there to smooth out some rough spots before putting on the primer.

  • Decided to do one last run with the filling primer, couple of pretty awful drips but I just wanted to have it done in one go because I'll be sanding most of it off anyway.
