  • DIY is the most satisfying though. And tends to be cheaper if you take your hourly wage at 0,-, but hey it keeps you off the streets and occupied.
I redid my 60 danish design couchset with that mindset. The satisfaction is still REAL even three years after finishing it.

Also, deanodising is very satisfying to do. Watching it just bubble away with 1,- worth of bog declogger.

  • 110bcd and has been suggested.

  • It’s got a 94bcd inner

Edit: @Hulsroy Noooooope completely wrong. I had opened a picture of the inside of the ox601d

  • Really?

  • That's a proper bargain

  • The question is can you make this work with a BSA BB and an adaptor of some sort? It's really cheap...

  • I've told @Simba I am certain I can make it work with Hope's BSA30 BB.

Edit: Having looked at dimensions I think maybe the axle is tooo short to make it work without facing off a big chunk of the BB shell on the bike frame

  • at this point i’d say galli is the only way, preferably in gold

  • My full-time job is a product of my enthusiasm for DIY, so I do know the satisfaction. But with the amount of time and energy self-employment costs, I've become a bit pickier in the projects I take on. And with none of the cranks suggested here I see a real return on investment.

What factors into this is that buying 2nd hand means I don't have an invoice and most old-ish cranks are only available in 175mm. If I were to spend hours trawling eBay and Kleinanzeigen I might find a nice crank in 110BCD 170mm, say Rotor 3D24s, for about €130. I'd then pair them with Praxis' 48/32 rings and post tax I'd be out of pocket about as much as a set of Rotor Aldhus.

Those Sugino's @Simba posted look great but probably won't fit unless I go for a silly BB shell. With the right option I wouldn't mind picking 48/32, but I haven't seen an option that gives a palpable benefit (either aesthetically or financially) over the Rotors.

If I'd be willing to spend more than €500 I'd get White Industries, hands down. And below that it seems to be either Sugino OX2-901D (challenging look), Easton EA90 (supposedly prone to creaking), or Rotors.

  • Rotors! Keep it EU

  • Okokokokok I understand.
My architect work is mainly digital/mental, so hands on is a welcome change.
With what Mads said just above and your own conclusions re: quality and quantity for an entrepreneur, I guess the crank debate is settled on the rotors right?
Glad we got that out of the way!

  • Is that biek resting against a chimney?!

  • Hahaha, great spot

  • More backpacks, maybe I should try and trade one for a set of White Industries cranks.

  • That's a banger

  • I like to think people are sending you a photo of their back, for that bespoke fit

  • super

  • Banging jumper too

  • All about knitwear, me.

    @BareNecessities
It's definitely more awkward to ask for body dimensions than it is to ask for bike dimensions!

I did try to explain to @PhilDAS that asking me that stuff wasn't normal

  • I asked you that in confidence

  • Couple of exciting things, I'm trying to keep this thread updated with some baggies every once in a while. The grey set is fidlocked out the ass but in the ibuprofen-powered fever haze I made them in I forgot to photograph those bits. They might be on show on a Cyber Cycles bike at a cycling fair in Düßeldörf this weekend so maybe it'll get photographed there.

  • Like I thought, that Navajo Digi camo looks way better on bike than off. What is it?
Not really me, but always interested.

    And black backpack is great.

Is there a finished basket shopping bag design btw?
