My wife has it... In Denmark I am afraid. It proved to be very expensive to bring back to life so it is sitting in its bag under our stairs. The luthier my wife brought it to wasn't sure if it was worth fixing it up. It was played for a week but kept being out of tune.
Anyways, it's still a fond memory and a reminder that there will be a day after the kids have grown up, where one might do other things. -

Couple of options if still relevant: I hired one from JP Guivier for a few months to see if the practice habit was going to stick. Which was a helpful introduction.
It did, so I then bought one from https://lovasziviolins.com/ who is based in East Dulwich, is the nicest guy, and periodically comes up with more budget friendly ones.

There's normally a decent turnover of instruments here, across the full range of levels/costs. https://www.musicalchairs.info/cello/sales
Dredging an old thread from the dead - anyone got any recommends on a cheapish cello? I've got my eye on the Harley Benton electric ones as I'll be practicing in a home and they're quieter, but if anyone's got an old acoustic suitable for a learner I'm all ears.
@BobbyBriggs very unlikely but if you've still got that old cello I'd be very much up for it!
