16" Tange Prestige MTB frame - for charity

Posted on
  • Hello folks.

Still clearing out the cave, today's offering is:

A Tange Prestige MTB frame weighing in at 1.9kg

    It measures:
    Seat tube: 40.5cm C/C 45.5cm C/T
    Top tube: 57cm C/C
    Takes a 11/8" steerer
    canti/v-brake only on the back
    Takes a 27.2mm seat post
Cable routing for a top pull front mech

I bought this new and built it up with a 410mm A/C tripple butted Kona P2s that I still have somewhere. I raced it solo once at Mountain Mayhem (badly) and did a couple of rides on it before stripping it down. It's in good condition, no dents or chain suck. There are a few spots of rust but nothing bad, it's a champagey sort of colour (painted not plated).

So here's the deal. You collect the bike (Horsham, West Sussex, happy to meet you at the station) then you make a donation (you decide how much for) to the charity that has helped me via the just giving link here:

Long story short, I had cancer, it was seriously crap, the Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre helped make it easier. Now I'm a lot better I'm raising some money for them to carry on helping other people.

Full details of my story are in one of my other charity threads here:

I've moved on a couple of bikes and several frames already and the good folks of LFGSS have always been generous. So time to move on something else that I no longer have a use for.

    Cheers,

    Tad

  • Any 26” rear wheels in the bike cave?

    Also, GLWS!
Love a LFGSS charity sale. Great cause and a great story.

  • Also if you read this thread but aren’t buying, give it a bump!

  • Thanks for the bump.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure that I don't have a rear, I gave the last one I knew about away with the stumpjumper this morning. I'll have a rummage in the loft though, there may be one lurking. The cave is beginning to look pretty sparse now.

  • Heave-ho and up we go.

Bump before the weekend. to comply with forum rules the frame now comes with a Chupa Chup lolly as there's no way of dropping the price.

If4 it helps the story, I was in hospital again today for a routine follow up, I popped by the Olive Tree on my way in & got a hug. Sometimes that's all you need.

  • A great cause, once more. If I was anywhere near, I'd grab this in a heartbeat. Have yourself a bump! Good luck with the (sort of, but not really) sale! :-)

  • @tadpole pm @velocio to check first, but as it’s for charity he probs won’t mind you bumping the thread a few times. In the meantime, have a bump.

  • I'm good with this.

Any sale that goes to charity is 100% find by me 😊. Only exceptions are things like raffles which are regulated and have a legal liability for me and the organiser. But that isn't the case here... Great cause too.

  • Bump.
Does the 57 top tube make it a bit long for drop bar monstouring?

  • @Velocio Thank you.

@sinthewood no idea, but if it's any help I rode it with a 130mm stem with flat bars. There aren't any braze ons for rack/mudguard mounts so maybe not ideal touring fodder. It does have a chain pip though, I do like a chain pip.

  • Bump

  • Back up we go. I've found a seat clamp to chuck in to the mix. Now comes with two Chupa Chups.

  • Buy this!

  • Tange prestige is light like 853 right?

  • On the kitchen scales the frame comes in at 1.9kg

  • Ok. Dibs. Will pm this evening, post work. In the meantime, suggestions for a light fork to match appreciated.

  • if @sinthewood decides against it gimme a message

  • Cool

For forks I rode it with a 410mm axel to crown triple butted Kona P2, they weighed in at 800g from memory.

  • Gone to a new home. Thank you again LFGSS
