Agreed. Even backing him each way, you're effectively betting Froome won't be in with a shout in the third week because if he is, Thomas will be at his service and will be lucky to make top five, let alone the podium.

Froome has to start to be in with a shout and with the amount of speculation etc it might just not happen be shit if they pulled something like that.

Also some mental fan could take him out. He gets massive amounts of abuse and piss thrown at him. Now that he is this massive cheat and hardcore doper (i say this in jest) there is a pretty good chance that something awful could happen. Which I wouldn't want but it wont surprise me if it happens.

The wife and I will be bikepacking to the first 3 stages and the last couple of stages (Pyrénées -> TT). With some wine and riding in the middle.

Would have loved to do the cobbles stage but the route and dates don’t work.

Bike change at the crest to gravel adventure all terrain endural groad and go straight down through the woods.

Sadly, no Thibaut Pinot in TdF this year, he's not fully recovered yet from going all out in the Giro and the lung infenction after...
