Skipped 5 pages of forum, and just got back froma ride and material run.
What have I missed? Just saw Gaviria abandoned... is Greipel still in?

-
• #1358
Griepel oot!
-
• #1359
That’s a bit silly because the Croix de Fer is really nice.
-
• #1360
Ok, it seems my list of sprinters still in the race earlier has cursed them all
-
• #1361
If you're surname begins with a G and you're a sprinter then today has not been good for you.
Greipel, Groenewegen and Gavira are out.
-
• #1362
wow. that is really shit for the sprinters. Much more top sprinter abandonment than previous years.

That was a serious sticky-sandwich by Nibali.

I can't remember ever losing so many sprinters in such a short space of time. Makes a mockery of the so-called unofficial World Champs of sprinting on the final. Also if you ever want make it even easier for Sagan to win green, include a couple of short mountain stages early in the second week.

Three mountain stages back to back is always considered the litmus test for GC contenders. This year it appears to be separating out the pure sprinters from the strongmen sprinters.

What a ride by Kruiswijk, whatever happens on the Alpe d'Huez. To be 3 minutes ahead in the virtual GC after staying out for this long on a mountain stage, and ascending the Croix de Fer faster than anyone despite doing it solo, is not too bad.
Good job he's not riding for Sky!

There is no competition for green even if all sprinters would have made it to Paris
-
• #1372
I'm sad about Cav being shelled. But seeing as everyone is being binned/cut/abandoned, I'm less sad.
Where's that liverpool fan rollercoaster graph?
NEXT SEASON! -

Let’s hope there are no rogue snowbanks on the descent.

Everything is coming up Dege!

Sagan hasn't yet crossed the line in Paris first though, maybe this year?
Looked like my usual reaction to banana flavoured gels.
