Yes, stock headset was nuts but I managed to get it working with a 1 1/8" carbon fork in the end.

Ta. I shall try it out

Did exactly the same for a friend.

Thanks, all over all of those... except I missed bidding on the top pair and they just sold for £21!
I'll keep searching, I've not even started the conversation to order the frame so I've got some time to collect parts.
p.s. GT is going to look great with that groupset. Whats the q-factor like on those cranks, is it less than more modern mtb cranks orare you going to do something to reduce it? I tried my square taper Middleburn RS7(?) on the Cotic for a wee while but I couldn't get anywhere near a decent chainline.

...aaaaaaaand Pebble Grey is back in the mix. Best part of making bikes is choosing colours ;-)

^ This or the olive... Maybe the olive just has it for me.

Yeah Olive Drab is dead gorgeous.
Good thing I need a colour for my future mtb as well. But I did really like this one:

Blue. Save the olive for the mtb

Colorado Tribute with red hoods, yellow bar tape and white flite?
-
• #812
That might be a bit much :)
But white saddle and bar tape looked nice -

But try to make one of those visuals. Who am I to say it won’t work out?

Hi,
Love the thread, so inspiring. Mind if I ask a question about those frogleg cantilever brakes on eBay that you linked to?
I want to upgrade the stock cantis that came on my Charge Plug SS, which I am turning into a kind of CX gravel tourer thing.
What would I need to make those frogleg brakes functional? Could I put them onto the springs and cables that are on the current brakes? Or would I need to buy more bits?

Oh my..

Blue with white contact points for me as well.

They are stupid price for what you need to buy.
Springs, barrels and hanger unit.
I would machine some parts myself but decided it was too much of a hassle. And thanks

Yeah

That's me out then! Thanks.

Yeah and also if you want to upgrade cantis these are not it. They won't stop you ;)
But they pink tho.
I am a mega fan of TRP Revox because they give loads of adjustability and I like fiddling with shit. And they look cool, but TRP cx8.4 or 9 will give you so much more no nonsense riding for less money but it does require a strong wheelset that is round and true.
Alternatively I have been fond of Tektro CR720 or Avid Shorty 6 for ease of setup and good mud clearance.
Best thing about cantis is that it teaches you to ride with less braking power and ultimately gets you to go faster and ride the obstacles rather than get off and run. For cross racing mind you. -

Any news about the cargo?
Last time I red about it ,
some testing was planned.
Is it alive? -

Sorry, I should have given an update on this.
The wire system is faulty. I need to machine some different parts for it and come up with a better wire tension system. But in terms of geometry it works fine.
Unfortunately I am full time teaching and Sam need to make money building bikes that work :) so this is on hold until I get time to look at it.
i'd say just saddle. Really looking forward to seeing it finished.
