  • Parts bin / bargain build is coming along slowly.

Got most things bolted together now and machined the 11sp cassette to fit the hubs.

I am not completely sure what I want with this. I really want a fast road bike I expect this to not be it. There is space for 28s and mudguards so maybe I will make it my winter trainer.
Maybe I'll sell it on... Don't know. But I am enjoying putting it together and it has given me inspiration for something I might build myself

It doesn't count if you can properly make stuff, with proper skills on proper tools!

  • Cheat codes innit

  • Are you ever afraid of posting a bdhu setup yourself?

  • Making mistakes doesn't scare me. Not correcting them does

  • are you ever scared of being too wise for this awful world and feeling you have no choice but to start a crusade against shit hood positions that claims the lives of billions across the galaxy? the last part was star wars or something so first question only

  • Not sure where your question is coming from or how to respond.

  • Almost there with the Enigma. Got some Pirelli P zero 28mm tyres in the post and need to do the bar tape.

  • I Gaston'd my little boy's balance bike. We had a go at cycling today but we are still a couple of months from being able to move on his own

  • This is still work in progress in terms of aesthetics but functionally it's great. Shakedown ride was amazing. Bike is smooth, silent, fast and feels great in terms of power transfer, which is a surprise as I thought it be slightly noodly.

  • Bars are fugly and I experimented with the rotation of the bars and totally overdid it. Which proves that you don't really realise this sort of stuff until you step back and look at what you have done. Anyways I want some classic bend bars for it so these bars are going in the bin asap.

  • I wish I was taller just to have a steerer like that

  • Love a good looking big bike!

Have I missed it but what is happening with the Thomson post?

  • It's cerakote

  • Looking like the perfect bike that! I want to build something very similar actually, room for 28/30's and mudguards (canti's?), rim brakes, all the bosses, 1 1/8 headtube, mechanical ultegra. I have a feeling it'll become the only bike I use.
What are the chainstays on that blue bike, they are flattened for alot of the length aren't they? I like how they just go round towards the tips. (Sorry if I missed an earlier post).
What was the tubeset? 31.8 downtube? So I can copy your wisdom :)

  • Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Been busy with I'll children and wife.
Just to be clear I didn't build the blue bike. It's an Enigma Ethos made from Columbus Spirit. Chainstays are the short taper Life/Spirit chainstays. DT is 35mm and top tube is 28.6mm. it rides really well imo.

  • Last night I had one of the best rides ever. Not very fast or very long at all but the forest and the light was just perfect.

  • Are you getting paid by the Aarhus tourist board?

  • Hi hihihihi ^^

  • I should!

But this is Vejle. Which is in many ways more lovely with more dramatic landscape than Aarhus. There isn't enough of it but it is quite nice
