Yes! Beautiful

Following this with interest - once you have some progress I might point a paint shop here in Toronto in the direction of your instagram id that’s alright? They are a funny bunch who struggle a bit with their high end paint jobs vs environmental and social consciousness, so might be interested in how you get on.

For sure. Happy to elaborate and spread the stoke
-
• #5981
I'm here for that for sure.
Do you think it would be possible to smooth the texture with a heatgun?
-
• #5982
I don't know but I don't think heat will do anything. Plus it is already a slow process, don't think I want it to take more of my time tbh

That is excellent.
Please don't do the botch job paint in that grim red 🤞🏻

It is alright if you don't get it.
I might think a little about how to explain it to you and come back to it if that's ok.
But just trust me when I say it couldn't be any other colour. -
• #5988
Hehe - I'm just trolling.
Please don't spend your useful time thinking of how to explain to a philistine like me.
Also - the frame is stunning.

Ta. Also it isn't red. It will dry up matte purple violet ish. It is also called cardinal purple fyi.

Yeah. That’s lovely. Great photos

I wrote a dissertation on Constantine VII Porphyrogénnētos. Byzantine imperial purple (porphyry) is close.

Still love the head tube panto. Can I send you a tube to panto for me?

if this frame rides like it looks it will be a blast.
using one base color an adding black/dark brush strokes on top could work out great and the "uneven" textures add as nice effect.

Those photos make me very happy. I'm not really into mountain bikes, but I come back to this thread again and again.

Stunning work. Those solders for the sliders! Just beautiful.

Yes.
I am considering making it a part of my business pantographing people bike parts. So I can do it after the summer maybe. -

Thanks 🙏

Thank you. I went for "elegant but rowdy"…!
But on a more serious note I have loads of experimentation to do still. Got some dreams of hand painted fades of similar hues. Tone on tone.
And I want to try my hand at ornamental / pattern brush strokes. Controlled textured paints. Got loads of ideas. Here's the current mood board
