I'd vote for the one you chose for the mockup. Very nice

I like the mock-up as well. Maybe experiment with fewer and thicker lines.

The gusset is for the extra loads from a disc brake?
Cool stuff, little mods to give something a new life often are the most fun.

Dinner and a swim at the beach.
Living in flat in the city in the summer is tough on a kid. My daughter is sooo much easier to tuck in when we've gone out on a little adventure after daycare.Next week she and I have the entire week to ourselves as daycare is out and mummy's gotta work.
I am wondering about taking her camping in our tent and trying to guesstimate how far we can ride in the cargo bike before she gets bored.Only cook on a beach with a 2yo if you like sand in your food!

Yes. I got hit by a car some years ago and that left a small kink in the underside of the down tube. So the gussets is covering that and reinforcing the area now that the bike will have disc brakes and likely go a bit more off road. It has been fine without but I might as well since I am killing the paint

Who doesn't like sand in their food? Memories flooding back of cheese and sand sandwiches on Tenby beach.
You seem to be winning at this dad game! -

I spent today preparing for vacation.
Monday I start cycling to my parents house with my daughter on the cargo bike. It is a journey I can normally easily do in one day, but this time we are taking it slow. Day 1 we will do 64km, day 2 47km and day 3 60km. We will be riding along the Danish east coast with loads of stops and camping seaside.
I've bought my daughter a sleeping mat and will be modifying an old sleeping bag of mine for her. Yesterday we setup tent together and tonight I'll do a packing test of the bike. I can't wait ☺️

A crucial part in making our tour work is that cargo bike can be transported back home. I did a ghetto roof rack solution last year but today I took the time to do it properly.
I reused my cargo bike jig and added some different holding bits.

Almost done. Just need to make two more brackets for mounting on the roof rails

Thanks 👍
Also managed my new stem. Still needs a bit of finishing and powder coating. But that will have to wait.

Me too, I just caught up with the last year of the thread.
Amazing work as always, even more because now I really want a bike (two, actually) from you. -

Thanks man. Happy to put you on my list, but I am sad to say that my peanut size brain is slowly reaching the conclusion that frame building, parenting, social life and a full time job is not really doable.

This frame for example has taken a year to complete.
It is almost done but it is not what I expected it would be. I ended up not TIG welding it as it was just too difficult to get it looking pretty.
