  • Got my wife's rack back from powder.
It clears cables much better now after the mod.
I'll get her a bag an decaleur for it at some point

  • The purple bike is not suitable for child transportation so I am having to make my wife a mum bike.
I was going to make a cargo bike for her, but as I have very little time to do so I have decided to mod this old Kona Cinder Cone instead. Adding disc tabs is not wasted anyways.
Later I'll convert this into a cargo bike or maybe I'll start from scratch.

Oh no! Another Hulsroy project to follow...!

    Already looking cool

  • It will be a parts bin build with stuff I saved for myself.

I'll take the hope wheels and avid juicy brakes from my GT ruckus. And I have a pair of Nitto bull moose and a 26.8 Zoom seatpost that will look good one there.
But I am need of a SRAM 10sp trigger or a Shimano trigger and rear mech.

  • ahh ok, i really gotta get a mill, dont fancy trying to get that with a file. Might be able to bodge something on my lathe hah

  • That’s basically just a stationary horizontal mill right :)

  • haha more or less

  • ahh ok, i really gotta get a mill, dont fancy trying to get that with a file.

It's not so bad. I did these with just files.

  • Though I say it myself, the fit was pretty damn tight on those mitres! Easier to do it on a mill if you've got the fixtures though.

  • :)

I am just trying to be funny

I've got a spare bag attachment bit for a decaleur if you want to fabricate the handlebar side of the mount?

  • Sure thing buddy. Send me a photo please

  • Nice one, fit looks good! id tig that very happily hah Did you just use a really small half round?

  • Ah thats cool, id love to have the space for something like that.

  • i have a roadarunner VO bag with 1 1/8 decaleur, could drop with spattr with rest of your bits?

  • My mtb is increasingly becoming my favourite bike. It brings me soooo much joy.
Just wish I had someone to ride with on a regular basis.
Handlebars had started creaking even though I greased the stem/bar interface. Cheap shit bars off eBay seem to have deformed although stem was done up to specs (4nm)

  • I wish I could store my bike in my bathroom as well!
    Very nice bike.

  • Ha. That's the workshop bathroom. Not the nicest place on earth, but it allows us to shit, clean bikes and wash hands.

  • Cheers! Used a large rat tail file, which was just under 16mm diameter.

  • It does look ace. If I was to go MTB I would want something like this.

  • Awesome aesthetics throughout on these last pages, as expected but still - most impressive.
