Also - here is the process @M_V for removing dropouts.
I am not saying this is the right way or only way.
- I cut down following the remainder of the dropouts.
- Centerpunch just about desired depth of slot and drill with appropriate sized drill bit.
- Wiggle out dropout tab and clean slot with small file.
- Test fit and file some more....
- I added a fancy fish mouth. It helped remove some old brass and looks dope imo.

I had a Salsa lip lock in 30.6 which I would never get to use on anything ever. So I decided to machine a collar out of some brass scrap which I'll solder on at some point. It brings the seat tube up from OD28.6 to 30.6 and reinforces the frame a bit. ID is 26.8 which allows me to use my Zoom seat post.

I decided to only do the chain stays yesterday. I think I will change the angle of the seat stays a bit as I got worried about clearance and geometry changes. I'll mock up with headset installed and wheels later today.

Very useful. Cheers.
Seattube looks tidy AF by the way.

Thanks.
No worries mate

I guess this will be covered by a new paint maybe but the brass details looks really nice!

No actually this will stay raw. I will blacken all silver parts and use jade oil.
I think it will look cool -
• #2009
Indeed I think it will! I think the best part is the small sleeve junction that leaves a small ribbon of brass on the seat tube - people might not notice it but you will know it is there which is cool haha

Looks like the geometry is a little less steep than I was hoping for. It is not completely stupid but I would have liked to keep the 74°. In hindsight I should probably have kept the horizontal road dropouts...
Anywho the forks AC is way too long so if I find something shorter I can chuck that on.
With this geo trail is around 50mm and that is totally acceptable.

@broken_777 supplied the rear wheel. I can really recommend buying wheels of him. Quality stuff.
Rims look a like so I am happy. And because I got it all brazed up tonight it looks like I'll be riding this in the weekend. Well chuffed.

Tomorrow after work I will silver solder eyelets into holes and move the rear bridge up and I am done well the mods. Then I'll black and oil :)
Head angle will end up around 73° which is fine..

No trimming of the drop-outs?

Just what I was thinking.

Nah... I am thinking about it. Can't decide. I like them a bit agricultural
Baby like this:

Yeah that would do the trick. Doesn't need extensive sculpting, but as it stands it's a bit too agricultural for my taste.

Fair.
I shall trim them then -

I am taking this apart and rebuilding it as a single speed and selling it rack included. Let me now if you fancy frame and rack only or maybe complete build before I do too much work :-) -

This sort of detailing is very Richard Sachs.
The edges would look great slightly raised. -

This is a bodge beater for myself. I can't be arsed spending more time on it. But I agree that looks sweet.

That's looking pretty bloody sweet.
Sorry if it's been covered already but, did you make the fork?
-
• #2024
Thanks. Yes I did. I made it for a different frame. The axle to crown is a bit long for this frame but it will work for now.

A new kind of weird.
I think I like it...
