Tragic. Thoughts with the rider's friends, family and all who knew her. RIP

Something has to change... this is on my commute to work and I've seen so many close calls on that junction.

Really angry about this one. It should not have happened, it is even more avoidable than other incidents.

Rest in peace unknown cyclist.

For those about to post... a reminder that the friends and family of the girl who died may read this. This incident is more likely than others to result in legal proceedings. With both of those things in mind: You can be angry, but be very respectful of those close to the victim. Do not speculate or say anything that may put at risk any legal proceedings.

Sad news.

I've moved this to the front page temporarily. I am very angry about this. Nearly all road traffic deaths are avoidable if central government, local government, companies, people to care and do their bit... but this incident even more than all of the other deaths in recent years, was very avoidable. The issues with that section of road are known, the issues with those vehicles are known, the issues with that HGV operator are known. It should not have happened.

I came past the scene this morning and the mood among riders was extremely sombre even before this awful outcome.

Another unnecessary death and another family that will have to deal with a terrible loss. Rest in peace, rider.

Just should not have happened. Very very sad.

Thanks, I misread coshgirl's post and thought that it made it sound as if she was someone famous.

Very sad. I'm not looking forward to the full facts coming out, which they surely will in this case.

Was dreading the appearance of the black logo ever since I heard of the incident this morning.
So very sad. Thoughts with all those that knew her - and to my fellow commuters too. RIP

Devastating news. RIP. Thoughts with family and friends.

I went past at the point they were performing CPR. Many bystanders and other riders had stopped, many upset at the scenes. I did see around 2 other cyclists (it appeared) who were actively involved in the resus with paramedics so a big pat on the back to those who tried hard to make a difference.
