  • New stem.

Need to look at the saddle and bar angle though.

  • Dope!

  • Romin's work best (imho) with the saddle rails level. The centre of the saddle should be flat. That's how I like mine anyway, ymmv

  • Got any spares hun?

  • yes, actually.

  • Want to swap one for money?

  • it's white, mind?

  • Text you. Unless you’ve changed your number recently

  • Aiming for -1 Deg so hardly anything, just need to fettle with the clamp to get it right.

Stem is really growing on me, even though it's not exactly a looker.

Shakedown in Regents Park this am, 22 min first lap, many shifting issues. Once that was sorted though was a very comfortable yet direct ride.

  • Richmond Park?

  • Nah Regents, had to stop 5 times on the first lap! Got it sorted eventually though.

  • Was going to say, surely not regents if you’re doing a 22 minute lap!
    Hopefully you’re sorted now

  • :) next few were much quicker.

  • Back to gumwalls because, well just because really.

  • nice, looking forward to finishing my 7...one day.
where did you get those A-force rims built ? if i may

  • Ryanbuildswheels in Bristol.

He has test ride sets available...

  • Can’t resist a bargain so picked up this. A 2008 X7, Caad 7 Optimo frame with disc brakes and a Fatty XR fork

  • Little bit of work done, stripped and cleaned, started to fit the group and test fitted the tyres.

Bars, stem, seatpost and saddle on the way. Debating upgrading the brakes.

  • love these obscure/rare models.. hydro brakes all the way! apex1?

  • This is gonna be good!
What are those things sticking out of the forkcrown good for?

  • they are just threads for mudguards/lights/etc.

  • If only I had e coin for that. Got Red 10spd levers so gonna stick with them, debating spyres over Hy/Rd brake wise

  • got a set of rival hrd shifters for 80 quid on here, the calipers were 45 (new, from ebay) and the hoses cost 30.. can be done on a budget as a long-term plan :)

i have hy/rd-s and i quite like them. easy to set up. if mechanical, i do quite like the spyre's solution as the one fixed side of bb7s caused many unpleasant minutes of swearing and hassle during installation..

  • yeah, i think i can stretch to some Spyres etc, but the full hydro is for the future maybe...

  • bit morework over the holidays:
bars fitted, Pro Discovery 12deg flare seem pretty comfy.

TRP Spyres and the rest of the group set and Salsa Shaft seatpost. Just needs cabling now.

Yes, it's one size up. A 56 where I normally ride a 54/55. But it's fine fit wise even though the logo on the seatpost being slightly hidden does annoy me.
