Remind me why meteors aren't flat like planets...
To be fair, we only see meteors after impact.
They might have been flat, (in one plane at least), before impact. -

We only see meteorites after impact.

• #304
There are no meteorites you silly sausages, they're the great sky dragons turds...

Not sure if this one has entered the argument yet, don't remember seeing it on here and can't face reading through the arguments again..

We only see meteorites after impact.
While I see what you did there, don't we only see the effect of meteorites after impact?

What would happen if a flat Earther met a hollow Earther? /Philosoraptor

Calzone?

I picture more of a Findus Crispy Pancake

• #311
Wouldn't that only be half an Earth? Surely more like a puri or other round semi-puffed bread product.

I am now convinced the earth is flat but it on a slope. When I drive to London my car manages 48mpg but the way back is clearly all uphill as fuel economy is 42mpg yet my house is not far from sea level.
Nothing you can say will convince me otherwise. I am now sticking my fingers in my eyes and ears and singing "la la la, I can't hear you".

Prevailing wind direction?

living in the sticks makes you cycle a lot. When in London you eat a lot.
Or
You left the handbrake on.

At serious risk of putting this thread back on track:
You can't get a total eclipse like the one Americans have seen yesterday with a flat earth model -
• #319
Of course you can, you just need a flat sun and a flat moon.
-
• #320
Of course you can. Notice how they make everyone wear dark glasses so you don't see what is really passing across the face of the sun.
The shadow was far smaller than the reported size of the moon, ever used a torch to cast a shadow? The shadow is always bigger than the object creating it. Moon and heliocentric system myth debunked.Thread ends.

The solar eclipse is fake news. Donald Trump proved it by looking straight at the shadow formed by the big cloud.
-
• #322
This what Trump saw during the eclipse - those glasses are just part of the conspiracy
(I know it's a lunar eclipse - it's still funny-ish)

How can you believe in a flat earth when your job involves flying across the US every other week? Kyrie Irving the NBA basketball player that is, who is referenced in that tweet. Who according to Wikipedia, was born in Australia, and has played in Rio Olympics and world champs in Spain. Probably tours to Japan etc too.

Although it has allowed for some interesting Cleveland Cavaliers related merchandise:
Edit: this is clearly better:

I think you're making the common mistake of trying to see things from a flat earther's point of view, but failing to completely discard all vestiges of common sense, logic and reason.
I think that's what makes stuff like that Metabunk post (from @pepperedmunky) a bit futile - they're spending a lot of time and thought on an argument that is as easily lost as "yeah but you can prove anything with facts".
Now that we've established that the Earth is indeed flat, should we be more worried about meteor hits? If one hit the Earth hard enough it might smash a hole through it and then all the water would drain away.
