Would low compression brake cables make a difference?

Had similar problems with Sora brakes on my better 1/3's bike.

Tried 105 calipers, improved a bit.
Tried SwissStop pads, improved a bit.
Tried new outers, improved a bit.

In the end, switching to 105 levers sorted it.

Thanks! Made a few more adjustments and updated a seat post clamp to the golden version. I am currently waiting for a small copper bell to arrive. Otherwise it is a really pleasant bike and it is being used daily!

As for the tape... I suppose it is an odd bit. Initially I was thinking about white tape, but found a box of purple one lying around. Once it wears off maybe I'll experiment with something yellowish or orange. Will see.

Good point! I've just used cables which were lying around, there for cheap Shimano M-system outer cables ended up being on the bike. Will definitely try something better in the future.

Thank you for sharing this! I am hoping that I won't have to upgrade any bigger parts for some time to come, but will definitely keep this in mind.
