This will be a minimal budget, parts bin, tight-Arse build! I don't have the resources to drop big bucks on a bike that I probably won't ride much...but they will be quality bits, as I think it deserves em👍
I'm going to just have a look for my old airborne ....

I had a univega alpina 5.5(?) it was a lovely bike, light, with a mix of LX/XT bits....a bit flexy by today's standards, but fast!

Great bike - quite a collection of 90's classics you're building!
A rather personal question I know, but do you have a particularly big shed?
-

One single garage and two 8x6 sheds but I'm not supposed to use Mrs Savage's shed on pain of death. The Muddy Fox and one Marin are in there at the moment. Maybe a third shed is needed.

Would anyone be interested in a 1988 specialized hardrock with most of the original bits for £35? Turns out it's not really suitable for my intended purpose. It would need to be picked up though as it's not rideable - in Holloway n7 - cheers @Constable_Savage

I definitely don't have room but edit your post to indicate where the bike is situated.

I have a shed but it is too humid half of the year to keep steel bikes in it. So I have to stall mine on the attic... not very practical when a sudden need to ride one of them pops up.

Holloway n7
Bugger, too far away.
@Rik_Van_Looy I think I have a bit of a hoarding problem though I am down to 16* from 23 once I have the Univega.
*only 8 mountain bikes. -

Splendid,
My tendencies are similar, at present I have 11 projects on the go crammed into a workshop, just 5 are rideable so I'm struggling a bit on the finishing. -

Ha! Glad it's not just me! I really need to cull a few, but every time I get a bit of space back, something else crops up that I can't refuse!
Currently sitting at 16 plus cough several frames.......and loads of spares. And old clothing. And musettes. And shoes.

Same story here.... 8 mtb's (4 rideable) and 15 (I think, could be more) roadbikes of which 4 or 5 are rideable. But it's fun building and braking down.
Do you guys just ride them or even race them?

A friend of mine's Cinelli Rampichino ('96 if I'm correct). The suspension fork has Cinelli branding as well, paintjob is original.

Thanks for the feedback! Can you confirm that it was made in 1996?
