I'm certainly interested in early reports of ready-to-ride build weights. I'm thinking/hoping for under 9kg inc mudguards...55cm frame.
-

my road bike is 8.2kg without mudguards (Ti frame).
I'm hoping for around 9.5kg for this bike, with mudguards; 59cm frame.

Today was all about chain stays. I bought a little ajax mill off of Ted to set up as a dedicated chain stay fixture. It makes it very quick.
The cuts on these (and any chain stays I use that aren't going onto a T47 BB) are offset down to the bottom of the BB. This makes welding them, and the seat tube, far easier.
So far my time estimations have been spot on, and no glaring flaws have arisen. I assume that will happen tomorrow...

@coldharbour enjoying the updates - thank you.
More generally has there been any move on when Ultegra R8000 is likely to become available? because my Isen is going to be a wall hanger until then

Allegedly some retailers should have bits today
Different shops were showing different dates for different components
To say shimano distribution and release dates are a clusterfuck is a massive understatement
-
• #534
some components can be found
allegedly Evans will have di2 rear mech today and front mech next week (or the other way round - have lost track a little)

To say shimano distribution and release dates are a clusterfuck is a massive understatement
To say they give a toss about you is a massive overstatement 🙂 Order 5000 groupsets for your factory to assemble onto OTP bikes if you want them to notice you.

I had picked up shimano was having a 'mare on the distribution front. Think I am going to sit on my hands until the Di2 R8000 become available

I have the order for ISEN No.21. Not sure how i'll build it up yet but I've been enjoying the thread and especially all the pics detailing the build.
Initially i was really unsure about what size to go for so i ended up getting the guys at my local bike shop to set up a bike fit for the geometry of both the 53cm and 55cm frames. It was done on the Retul system. My current frame is a 54cm (M) Scott foil and previous frames have generally been 54-56cm. The 53cm felt the best with a 110mm stem and 25mm layback seat post, although it sounds so small to me... Anyway i hope it works out.

Just put my rear wheel in to test clearance. This is a Pro One 28mm, on DT Swiss R460, so comes up about 29.5mm. 35mm Super Swans didn't fit, but slicks might just. 32mm will be fine. I don't know if the clearance will be bigger on the bigger frames? Looks like acres of space in the fork.

Also, just realised a rear post-mount spyre caliper isn't going to fit in the rear triangle. Flat mount swiftly ordered.

@coldharbour - what's the story on the name of the venture - Isen?
I'm on holiday, visiting with the wife's family outside Copenhagen. I'm reminded that 'isen' is the definite article of ice (is) in Danish. That is, 'isen' translates as 'the ice'.
Any Danish connection for you?
We'll be visiting a cousin's ice cream parlour in the city tomorrow (http://www.koedbyensis.dk) while watching the Rapha Nocturne races!

Internal routing is in for all 53 and 49's.
As a process it's quite hard to automate, which I assume is why you rarely see it on production frames (made of steel) as ideally you'd just use an end mill at the angle the liner came in at, but these thin tubes are too snatchy so you'd probably have a lot of wastage. Process for us is drill 7mm hole, then file into shape. I do loads of internal routing so it's not a big job for me, gives us something over a lot of other frames, and just looks better so all in all might as well. Have swapped to brass routing for ease of maliabilty and also as we can spec the lengths of these much more than the stainless (500mm, too short, or 1000mm, too long.

What's going on with the cross section of the tube you are holding up? Is it completely asymmetric or is the camera playing tricks?
-
• #549
Think of it as a bad representation of an aerofoil. The end closest to you is the head tube end and the liner exits on the right.

We are some lfgss connected people racing fixed tomorrow
Done...phew!
