  • The latter. They'll be able to advise you and get them for you at the right length

  • Nice project! Send me your PayPal once it's finished, I will ride it in Het Kuipke and send some photos. :)

  • You have a deal @WimVDD ;)

  • Another stem for a bit of restoration. This one is a bit tricky as the panto is very shallow. I had to take the anodising off as it was a bit rough. Obviously it's a work in progress

  • Now I've bought more than enough stems for this project and I'm not going to buy anymore. I've bought 3 of different lengths as the top tube is slightly shorter than my road bikes. Hopefully one will be just right.

  • Great action shot

  • Change of rim choice. The Nisi laser rims were out of stock even though advertised for sale.
Gone for Ambrosio clinchers now -

  • Had a pair of those rims in the future, very decent for the price.

  • Thinking of amber/tan wall tyres and whittled the choice down to -
I have the paselas and think they are rather good.
Any thoughts on the others or reasons to avoid

  • I think conti classics look good on builds like this - i like the redder sidewall to straight up tan/gum coloured

  • The tyre choice depends on the intended use. Veloflex, Vittorias & Challenge would be a good choice for a wall hanger or track use but if you want to use it brakeless on the road and not just as a café racer, I'd get cheaper and more robust tyres. I'm happy with theconti grand prix I'm currently riding, makes for smooth skidding is pretty robust and doesn't cost much to replace.

  • I had some classics and wasn't sure about the colour in person and I think they look better in photos than in reality.

  • Not considered grand Prix as I'm not really a fan of all black tyres but if they last well.

  • Rims and Campagnolo Record pista high flange hubs from @allister dropped off at @cycleclinic to be built.

  • I've clements on my road bike & no complaints. No idea how they'd stand up to fixeh skidding though.

  • Matching tape
