Rides as good as it looks!
Indexing was a tad out on the front. Just need to get some mudguards now.

Nice job. Some nice chrome guards and a silver seatpost would set it off.

Looks great! BJ did a really good job on the paint, how much did it cost?
The little renovated by bj sticker annoys me a little bit is it easy to peel off or under lacquer?

Paint was £215, nearly half of that was decals, small bits (binder bolt, bb guide, dt stops) & shipping.
The BJ sticker is over the lacquer. But I quite like it, I can’t recommend them enough!

Mudguards advice time (The blighties)
Tried to fit some sks chromoplastics, ohh my what a faff.
The front guide for the brake clashed with the bottom headset cup (needs modifiying). The rear wheel won’t fit when the bottom is clamped on to the chainstay BB bridge.
I understand I will have to do an element of modifications, but is this normal to ‘hack it up to fit’

mudgrowls all pfaff, all the time for me. Pre-fit, adjust, re-fit, chop, fit again. Sigh. Mince pie, fit and live with make-do.

Is this not a race frame to which eyelets have been added ? An SKS traditional rear mudguard may not fit if the rear end is quite short.

Potentially, it’s either mod these or get another suitable pair. PDW full metal look awesome, bit pricey.
Wondering if these would be any better in 30mm?

This frame is basically the same as Condor Pendio (and likely built by Yates/M Steel workshop) which though it comes as standard with guard eyes, has very tight clearance for guards over 25 mm tyres. In the end I fitted mine with Crud Guard Racer Mk II which work better than the Salmon guards Condor originally fitted, and the SKS which, like you, I couldn't get to fit well. The Crud Racers fit over tyres that come out at 27 mm and protect the rider well but the rear mudflap is hopeless so no good if you ride with a group. They are also a LOT lighter.
One of our guys has the Pendio in exactly the same colour as yours (and does the overnight rides to the South Coast so it may be him you met). He now has PDW 'fenders' but still can't fit any tyre fatter than 25 mm. They look good though.

Little update, nearly 6 months on.
The turbomatic 2 has made a nice improvement

Update:
I will be most likely selling the Condor frameset in the coming months. It’s a great bike to ride, but it didn’t turn out quite as I expected.
Insert Dave Lloyd 653 Audax frameset.

Oh awesome! What are you plans for it? Did you take the campag groupset with it from @jambon? There is a pic with wheels here https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/dave-lloyd-653-randoaudaxtourer-37184 :)
